That's a Wrap #43 - Wrestleview.com

That's a Wrap #43

That's a Wrap
By: David Stephens of WrestleView.com

Ousta! Welcome back to the only WrestleView column covering topics both nowhere yet everywhere at once. If you are new to the column you are probably going to hate me for the first couple weeks, but then you are going to hit a point where you say ?oh wait a minute, I think he gets it?. Don?t worry, that's exactly how it is designed to be. This column is all about gut reactions and traveling thoughts. As the great Andy Kaufman once said: ?I just want real reactions. I want people to laugh from the gut, be sad from the gut, or get angry from the gut?.

The Truth Behind Shawn Michaels v. The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 26

The shocking truth behind the Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker match that will headline Wrestlemania has been revealed to me. I must say that I share this information with considerable risk to my health and livelihood. There are forces at work which do not wish for the general public to know what I am about share. However, I feel it is my duty to enlighten my readers regardless of the personal risk and cost.

I received a disturbing e-mail about a month and a half ago which to be perfectly honest I simply ignored. I get a lot of e-mail both from readers and promotions, so when I see something that seems to be emanating from a crack pot, I put it into my WrestleView folder and tuck it away. Maybe it was the persistence of this particular e-mailer's insistence that I pay attention, or maybe I was just bored, but one way or another I wrote back about two weeks ago after receiving what must have been my third or fourth e-mail. I was asked not to share the person's name out of interest for their own safety, instead I will hereby refer to the mysterious messenger as ?Mr. X?.

It started off as a series of cryptic messages, which all mysteriously highlighted the fact that this is the 26th edition of Wrestlemania. At first, that meant absolutely nothing. I thought it was just a ?number?. I could not have been more wrong. What I?m about to share is highly controversial ,and is not for the strong of mind.

The careers of both Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker have been disturbingly similar once one is enlightened to the truth. Take for instance the number of times that each man has held a WWF/E Title and/or won the Royal Rumble.

Shawn Michaels: (WWF Champion 3 times, WWF European Champion 1 time, WWF Intercontinental Champion 3 times, WWF/E Tag Team Champion 5 times, WWE Tag Team Champion 1 times, World Heavyweight Champion 1 times, Royal Rumble Winner 2 times)
This works out to a grand total of 16 accolades.

The Undertaker: (World Heavyweight Champion 3 times, WCW Tag Team Champion 1 time, WWF/E Champion 4 times, WWF Hardcore Champion 1 times, WWF Tag Team Champion 6 times, Royal Rumble Winner 1 times)
For a grand total of 16 accolades.

Both men were born in 1965

Both are the only full-time wrestlers that made appearances on the first episode of ?Monday Night Raw? that are still with the company today

There are 13 letters in ?Shawn Michaels?
There are 13 letters in ?The Undertaker?
13 + 13 = 26

Which brings us right back to Wrestlemania 26. This is why the equality factor was not an issue at last year's Wrestlemania. Due to the uneven balance of being the 25th, and not the 26th, The Undertaker's streak provided the edge for victory.

This was also countered by the duplicity factor which was holding back Shawn Michaels. While he has largely overcome the challenge of formerly being known as a Tag Team specialist, the ?curse of Marty Jannety? does still hold credence in his life. Because of this past, he is often forced to fight for something twice before being successful. Unfortunately for Shawn, despite this being his second attempt at The Undertaker's streak, the power of the number 26 will ultimately force both competitors into submission.

In Indian Numerology, a person's ?Name Number? is the force that determines their interactions and relationships. This is of critical value in understanding the relationship between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker. For the Name Number we must strip away the gimmicks and instead orientate with the real soul of these two performers as we use their real names. ?Michael Shawn Hickenbottom? and ?Mark William Calaway?. The Name Number is calculated by assigning the divine values to the letters of the names. (A-J-S =1 , B-K-T =2 , C-L-U =3 , D-M-V =4 , E-N-W =5 , F-O-X =6 , G-P-Y =7, H-Q-Z =8 I-R =9)

Michael Shawn Hickenbottom = 107 = 1 + 0 + 7 = 8
Mark William Calaway = 71 = 7+ 1 = 8
As this is Wrestlemania ?26?, 2 + 6 = 8

This is the harmony that brings equality to the venue and the performers. The number 8 represents the power and ambition of nature. These are two men who have spent their entire careers perfecting their sport and rising to the top of their profession.

Given the shocking truth behind the math of their match at Wrestlemania, and the context of the analogous relationship of these two performers, I feel that there is no choice but to accept the inevitable. Their match MUST, and WILL, end in a draw. Be it by double pinfall, double submission, or any combination thereof.

The numbers don?t lie*

*This analysis in no way reflects the sanity of this columnist, as to be perfectly honest he feels as though this entire explanation was absurd and ridiculous. HOWEVER, due to the fact that no one has taken his point seriously that the match will end in a draw, it was in the opinion of this writer that this presentation could not go down any better or worse than if he tried to rationally explain his stance

To follow up the story about Bill Goldberg stating on Twitter that he is negotiations with WWE, the Wrestling Observer reports that the former champion was contacted by WWE awhile back with an offer for an affiliation, but not to return to the ring. The potential agreement would include merchandising on a legends contract type level, but on a larger scale. WWE wants to use Goldberg's likeness for video games.
I highly recommend that you guys check out this season of Celebrity Apprentice. Goldberg & Maria are pretty entertaining, and it's a fantastic show in general

Hulk Hogan was described as being in a tremendous amount of pain after the latest set of TNA Impact TV tapings last week in Orlando reports The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Hogan was said to have been icing his back for a long time and that is just after only taking a few bumps and being fairly protected in the ring. As of now he isn't expected to wrestle again anytime soon for TNA, but plans can always change.
I think he works better in his non-wrestling role with TNA, so this is not necessarily a bad thing from the standpoint of the viewers

WWE is reportedly being very strict with their talent in Phoenix during WrestleMania 26 week reports The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. They want talent to be kept as busy as possible and don't want people wandering off to ROH or Dragon Gate USA events. Talent have been told specifically to not attend these events. They were also informed to expect TMZ cameras everywhere.
We read these same reports every single year, and for the most part the talent abide by the rules. The WWE is probably the only company on earth that feels 100% ok with limiting their ?independent contractors?? leisure activities.

The top talent in TNA are not getting their interviews scripted and while it remains to be seen how widespread this is, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and Ken Anderson are all given bullet points and told to make sure they get everything in. There are said to be little attempts to script them and others at that level.
That's a per talent basis. If the skill is present, no reason to shy away from showcasing it

TNA world heavyweight champion AJ Styles was sporting a replica belt of the championship belt, such as one you can purchase from TNA's merchandise web site. As we have previously reported, the actual TNA world title belt is banged up.
I?ve read a lot of reports were people are making fun of them for this, I actually think it is a very intelligent decision. What does it matter?

WWE.com added Wayne Brady to their upcoming guest host schedule for Raw. Brady will host on May 3.
He's going to be AWESOME

Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Sean Waltman were all using the term "Wolfpac" for their group on Hall's latest "Last Call with Scott Hall" video and they are expected to use the term live tonight on Impact. According to The Wrestling Observer, WWE doesn't own the term Wolfpac when they purchased WCW's intellectual property.
I personally loved the ??? that they have been using. Makes me smile every time I see it.

TNA did work an injury angle last night on Impact involving Hernandez. Hernandez is not injured, of course, and will take a break from TNA to work in Mexico for the next three months.
FINALLY! I?ve only been ignoring those rumors for four months

PWInsider.com is reporting that former American Idol winner Fantasia will be signing "America the Beautiful" at Wrestlemania on Sunday
I?m kind of surprised that they didn?t try for Jennifer Hudson considering that her fianc? is on WWE NXT. I definitely expect her to be used in the future if he lasts in the company

Desmond Wolfe's valet Chelsea is a model/dancer from Orlando called Alison Skipper. She has done print and ad work for the past few years including shoots for Vogue magazine and a television commercial for Walt Disney World.
I still have no idea what her purpose is in the company?
