A plug from PWBTS contributor Petey Staniforth about the UK's Teenage Cancer Trust. He shared how the UK's Power Trip Wrestling's former webmistress lost her brother, Daniel Coker to cancer at 18, and is looking to raise as much money and awareness as possible for the cause. Power Trip Wrestling will also be doing fundraising shows for the cause as well.

The information below comes from Dannycoker.co.uk

DANIEL STEPHEN COKER
19th September 1992 - 11th May 2011

On the 11th May 2011 Danny left us to be with the angels after fighting a heroic battle against a very rare and agressive form of cancer called Desmoplastic Sarcoma.
Danny was a cheeky, charming, chappy who was well respected and popular amongst his peers and adults alike. We hope with this website to introduce those of you who did not know Danny, to someone who has left a huge hole in the heart of everyone who knew him.

We aim to provide an environment where we can all be proud of everything Danny achieved within in his short life, and to ensure that famous trademark "Danny Coker Smile" lives on in everyones hearts and mind. We would like to use this as a place where we can heighten awareness of this particularly rare and agressive kind of Cancer, and raise funds that will be used to improve the lives of teenagers and young adults with this illness.

Danny was treated at Southampton General Hospital and used services there provided by the Teenage Cancer Trust. It was his wish that family, friends and the wider community joined together to support this extremely valuable charity, to enable them to continue supporting young people.

We very much value all of your hard work and efforts to organise events in Danny's memory. We hope that we will be able to promote future events here, and would welcome anyone with any ideas for fundraising to please contact us as we welcome any kind of support.

Keeping with the charity theme...Wanted to include this little blurb again about Michael Morrice, a brave 13 year old from the UK, who is awaiting a kidney transplant. Michael is currently undergoing dialysis.

If any readers within the business (indies, WWE, TNA, puroresu, or lucha promoters or workers or even staff) or even fans... who would be willing to send a key chain or pen from the country in which they live... or just plain good wishes, please contact Michael and his mom, Sylvia, via Michael Morrice Transplant Support Facebook page. This isn't one of those chain deals....he's a real kid (who happens, as it turns out, to share my birthday)...not a mysterious someone looking to get some magic number of Facebook friends. He's just a 13 year old wrestling fan, with a mom who loves him, and who asked Petey for help. I thought I'd pass it on to all of you...

Some of you have already sent him good wishes, and many other things...if some more of you can be moved to do so, it'd be appreciated.

And finally...

Another update on for this year's Toys for Tots events at The Arena in Philadelphia. Arena management, as they have for the last seven years, has offered to possibly have the collections done at more events during the Holiday season than in the past. CHIKARA will feature collections at their Sunday, November 13 iPPV show, as well as their Joshi Mania show on December 2. featuring Joshi legends Aja Kong and Manami Toyota, as well as talent from Japanese women's promotions Osaka Women's Pro, JWP, Sendai Girls, WAVE and Union Pro.

The next day, Cage of Death 13 will be a doubleheader featuring an international mix of Combat Zone Wrestling, Big Japan Pro Wrestling, K-DOJO, and Freedoms. Asylum Arena management has stated that CHIKARA will open up their doors at both their November 12 regular and the December 2 Joshi-Mania event to Toys for Tots collections.

The afternoon show will feature Kaientai Dojo (K-Dojo), Dramatic Dream Team (DDT), FREEDOMS, and Big Japan Wrestling as part of the International announcing Ryuji Ito and Jaki Numazawa.

For attending the events that wind up being organized this year, we ask that you please bring an unwrapped toy to the Asylum Arena; and donate it to the Toys for Tots program, who will have collection bins at the entrance of the Arena. The mission and goal of the Toys for Tots program is to collect new, unwrapped toys and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community. Though a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope is delivered to less fortunate children that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.

Until next time...
