CMLL & Santo Trying to Make Deals

This week the Wrestling Observer reported that CMLL is trying to sign some major stars and is "close to a deal with a key guy" while supposedly conversations between CMLL & El Hijo del Santo have possibly started which is huge since Santo has had MEGA heat with CMLL for years. On Santo's side the Observer claims Santo has a new financial backer for his Todos x Todos promotion and has offered contracts with GUARANTEED MONEY to L.A. Park, Dr. Wagner Jr., Cibernetico, Nicho el Millionario, Halloween, & others. Things could get interesting with this.

Blue Panther-Negro Casas Hair Match Official
Friday CMLL held a press conference to officially announce the Hair vs. Hair showdown between two legends, Blue Panther & Negro Casas, which will take place on the 03/02 "Dos Leyendas" event. After the two signed their contracts they then began brawling. Also at the press conference Metro announced that he was changing his name to Diamante Azul and debuted his new mask (which looks an awful lot Blue Demon's mask which is sure to cause some problems). I wonder how CMLL's Diamante feels about Metro's new name? Also, they announced that Lady Apache, Dalys la Caribena, Goya Kong, La Comandante, Zeuxis, Princesa Blanca, & Princesa Sujei were heading to Japan for the REINA promotion soon.

Prince Devitt Coming in March
Last week NJPW said that Prince Devitt would be coming to CMLL soon, but this week they announced the start date. He will be coming to CMLL on March 15 and staying through April 8th. Devitt has a IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title Match upcoming in Japan so it will be interesting to see if he drops the belt before coming to Mexico or if he will bring it to Mexico with him (and possibly defend it in CMLL).

AAA

AAA/TNA News

The Wrestling Observer is reporting this week that TNA's Dixie Carter will be getting involved with the TNA/AAA storyline in AAA. The story they're going with is Jeff Jarrett is refusing to defend his belt in AAA and that Marisela Pena has reached out to Dixie Carter and Carter is going to force Jarrett to defend his title.

El Consejo Invades AAA's Offices
This past week a vignette was aired on AAA's TV show which saw El Conesejo actually invade AAA's offices and attack several AAA stars who were there. Texano Jr., Toscano, & Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. barge into the AAA offices (where they hilariously harass Octagon) and then attempt to get into Marisela Pena's house when a couple of AAA stars (Electroshock & Heavy Metal) confront them. El Consejo beats the hell out of the AAA stars and then cops show up and drag them off as we see Marisela looking down (and shaking her head) from a balcony in her house.

5) 2012 Rey de Reyes Tournament Semifinals: Cibernetico vs. Perro Aguayo Jr. vs. Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. vs. TBA
* NOTES *
- Los Oficiales returns to AAA since they're match with Real Fuerza Aerea last year.
- Dark Family defend the All Japan Titles for the first time in Japan. Winning team defends the belts back in Japan on 03/20.
- La Consejo's Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. & Toscano are wrestling for the first time since the invasion here. The story is that Marisela Pena asked El Consejo what they wanted and they said they wanted matches to prove they're better than AAA so Pena accepted that as long as they would stop with the gang attacks on AAA stars.
- There will be two more Semifinals Matches which will make the Finals a 4-Way Elimination Match at the "Rey de Reyes" PPV in March.

INDY & OTHER NEWS

The Return of Lucha Libre USA (again)?!

This past weekend Lucha Libre USA held a Press Conference in California to announce that they were holding events for 03/23 (Reno, NV), 03/24 (Stockton, CA), and 03/30 (San Jose, CA) but made no mention whatsoever about TV. Ticket prices are a RIDICULOUS $40-$87, those are TNA & WWE prices. Blue Demon Jr. was at the press conference and he, Lizmark Jr., Super Nova, Pequeno Halloween, Marco Corleone, RJ Brewer, Shane Helms, Chavo Guerrero Jr., Latin Lover, Melina (yes formerly of WWE), and L.A. Park have been confirmed for the events.

Cassandro Retires
Lucha Exotico legend, Cassandro, has announced he is retiring for the time being siting stress being the factor, but this doesn't sound like a retirement rather than a break.

Lucha Masks
In the past I've posted links to Mask dealers and still I get asked constantly where you can find Lucha Libre masks (at a reasonable price), and I stumbled across another site which I figured I would link. At http://www.mrmaskman.com/ tons of Lucha masks are sold at reasonable prices as well as actual replica masks (the quality the luchadors themselves wear) and excellent kids masks.

DG-USA Offering $2 iPPV
This week Dragon Gate USA announced that one of their two March iPPV's on WrestleMania weekend would be made available for just $1.99! The 03/30 "Open The Ultimate Gate '12" iPPV headlined by Low-Ki vs. PAC in one-on-one action will be the iPPV available for that price. This is being done in hopes for more brand awareness for DG-USA and all the other iPPVs will be the regular $9.99 price. CIMA, Ricochet, Masaaki Mochizuki, Sami Callihan, Arik Cannon, & Pinkie Sanchez have all been signed for that card already as well.

* NOTES *
- I believe ths is GALLI's first iPPV (it will be on GoFightLive) and it will be just $9.99.
- I think that's former CHIKARA star Lince Dorado in the 2nd match but he's not on the poster so I'm not sure.
- Jorge Paez in the Main Event is a Mexican Boxing Legend (and he appeared alongside Rey Mysterio in the WWE at a PPV once, accompanying him to the ring), but I don't think he's ever wrestled before.
