WrestleView.com Chat Room Rules

A Statement From Brian C. Farmer, WrestleView Chat Moderator:

First of all, let me say "thank you" for your continued support of our Weekly RAW Chats. I appreciate your continued attendance and support. You have all made this successful, and I very much enjoy working in this capacity with WrestleView.com

Now, let me get to the issue at hand. Recently in our chats, several issues have been brought to the forefront, the most important of which centers around the simple and understandable fact that not everyone in our chats is going to get along all the time.

Now, while this is a “wrestling chat room”, it is also an “unmoderated chat room.” This means that our chatters are free to discuss whatever they wish within reasonable bounds (nothing illegal or blatantly wrong, in other words).

I respect the right that each of us has to speak his/her mind. Differences in opinion are expected at times, and even welcomed as a part of healthy discussion. However, a difference of opinion and out-and-out flaming between two or more parties are two entirely different matters. Differences in opinion are fine--the flaming will stop now.

Here are a few rules that I’m asking all of our chatters to abide by from here on out:

Last Updated: January 7th, 2005

1) If someone's viewpoint or personality is bothering you, but they aren't doing anything that I or another WrestleView.com staff member feels should warrant a boot or ban, then I'm sorry. I am not going to boot people who are not in offense just because they're bothering you, so don't ask.

Instead, do your best to avoid arguments and flaming with that person, for the sake of maintaining the peace and respecting the other chatters in our room. I believe we're all capable of behaving in an orderly manner.

2) If it's not possible for you to get along with a person, then I would advise you to make use of our chat room's "Ignore” feature. Don't flaunt it or shout it out (i.e. – "You're on IGNORE now, a-hole!" or "I just put BFarmer1980 on IGNORE! HAH!"). Just use it and continue to chat in an orderly manner. This is exactly why the feature is available. If you need instructions on how to use the "Ignore" feature, please PM me and ask me. I'll be glad to help you.

3) I ask that all of us work to exhibit a higher level of self-control when interacting with others during our chats. If you can't keep yourself under control, if your temper flares, or if you’re just getting out of hand, then leave, take a few minutes to cool off, and then return to the room. If you're asked to calm down repeatedly and refuse to do so, you run the risk of being asked (or forced) to leave for the remainder of the chat (or longer).

4) Please refrain from any slanderous, blatantly offensive, or racially/culturally biased or abusive language. It's both unnecessary and disrespectful.

5) Don’t ask to be made a moderator. This will occur only at the discretion of a Wrestleview staff member.

6) Please refrain from plugging or advertising any websites without the expressed consent of WrestleView.com Owner and Webmaster Paul Nemer. Plugging or advertising is defined as the unsolicited and un-approved advertisement of any website or webpage, either in the public chat or in a private message. This includes listing the URL Address, giving the name of the website or forum, or referring to the website in any way with your user-name. Violators of this rule will receive a warning and the opportunity to refrain from the practice. Repeat violators will be kicked from the chat room. Any further violations will result in immediate banning, no questions asked.

I've done my best to present these guidelines to you in a fair and calm manner. Now, I ask you to please abide by them from now on. If you do so, there will be no problems. If you can't respect these guidelines, you will be booted, and if the offenses persist, banned—period.

These chats are available for the enjoyment of everyone. Thus, it is everyone's responsibility to conduct himself/herself in an orderly manner, and I believe we can do just that.

Thank you, and enjoy our chats!
