GOLDUST - FAQ
Is Goldust
really gay?
No. The Goldust
character and Dustin Rhodes the person is not a homosexual. Rhodes was
married to WWF star Terri Runnels during the 90's and had a child named
Dakota with her. Goldust the character is just plays mind games with wrestlers
and fans as told on WWF television.
Was he
really married to Terri Runnels?
Yes. Dustin
Runnels and Terri Boatwright married sometime in the year 1992 while they
were both in WCW. The two had a child Dakota during that time and when
Runnels left WCW for WWF he brought Terri with him as Marlena. The two
divorced in 1999 and Runnels left the WWF soon after. He did return to
the WWF in 2002 though and the two are said to be friends now.
How
many times did he win the WWF Intercontinental title?
Three. His
first win was against Razor Ramon at Royal Rumble 1996. His second win
is a little confusing though. Goldust and Savio Vega had a match resulting
in the title being held up for a week until a rematch took place. Goldust
won the rematch and regained the title. Usually in the wrestling business
a title being held up until the champion can regain it is not another
title reign but the WWF have counted Goldust's as one. His third title
win as was he won the title against Road Dogg in 1999 right before leaving
WWF in 1999.
Why
was he fired from WCW in 1995?
Dustin Rhodes
was fired for breaking the anti-blood policy in WCW. Rhodes and Blacktop
Bully were scheduled to have a "King of the Road" match at Uncensored
1995. The match was to take place in the back of a truck and both wrestlers
decided to blade themselves after WCW booker Mike Graham encouraged them
to do so. All three men were fired from WCW soon after and Rhodes signed
with WWF.
Was he behind G-TV?
Even though it was never officially figured out, Dustin Rhodes has said in
interviews that it was going to be him (Goldust TV) but he had a back injury
and would be out for 8 months. He was also divorcing other WWF employee
Terri Runnels at the time so the WWF just released Rhodes and keep doing the
angle. No one else was figured out to be revealed as the guy behind G-TV.
