Was Duggan arrested in 1987?
Yes. On May 26, 1987 Jim Duggan and Iron Sheik were pulled over after a show
when police suspected Duggan's bad driving. The officer found that Duggan
was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana while Sheik was arrested
for being in possession of various drugs. The result was Iron Sheik being
given a year's probation while Duggan was released.
Did he have cancer?
Yes. In 1998 Jim Duggan was diagnosed with liver cancer. Duggan had to have
the tumor taken out(which was the size of a football) and radiation. Duggan
made a full recovery and returned to WCW a while after.
What has become of Hacksaw Jim Duggan? Might he work for WWE in the near future?
Last time I talked to Duggan was on January 17, 2003 where he was working for BCW. Hacksaw had battled cancer about 5 years ago and fortunately he's okay now. I believe he's still working in the indies and having fun.
Update: Duggan returned to WWE in October of 2005 and has remained an active wrestler on the roster as part of the "WWE Legends" group.
