RANDY SAVAGE - FAQ

Was he really married to Elizabeth?
Yes. Randy Poffo and Elizabeth Hewlett were married on December 30, 1984 in Frankfort, KY. The "marriage" between the two at Summerslam 1991 was just a gimmick to get people to buy the ppv. The couple divorced in 1992.

How many World titles has he won?
He has held the WWF World title twice the first time being in 1988 and then again in 1992. He has the WCW four times in 1995, 1996, 1998, and his last in 1999.

Is he related to The Genius?
Yes. Randy Savage is related to The Genius. (real name Lanny Poffo) Both men are the sons of famous wrestler Angelo Poffo.

Who is Gorgeous George?
Gorgeous George (real name Stephanie Bellars) was Randy Savage's real life girlfriend. She wanted to be a valet to Savage so WCW bought the rights to the "Gorgeous George" name and began managing Savage in 1999 until he left WCW. The couple broke up in 2000.

Why did Randy Savage make an appearance on WCW Thunder in 2000 and then leave?
Randy Savage was contacted about appearing in a Battle Royal on WCW Thunder but Savage couldn't come to an actual contract with WCW. Savage and WCW officials had been arguing about how much money Savage would make ever since his contract ran out in 1999 but the talks stopped after the beginning of 2000. They started to pick up again in the middle of 2000 but nobody could still come to an agreement.

I read that the Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage formed a tag team called the Ultimate Maniacs. Is this true and if so, how long did the team last?
Yes, it is true. He teamed up with Randy Savage in October of 1992 and were given the name "Ultimate Maniacs." This was only for a few matches, then Warrior left the WWF.

Did You Know?
Randy Savage lost his 6 world titles to only two people? Three times each to Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair.

Randy Savage also appeared in the new Spiderman in the spring of 2002.
