Wagner/AAA Drama Continues
The ongoing drama (I’m being nice by calling it “drama”) continued this past weekend as Dr. Wagner Jr. gave yet another interview with yet another story about his AAA contract. He says that it ends in August and he will immediately start back with CMLL after that, even going as far as to saying that he will be added to the Atlantis-Guerrero Mask Match (not happening) if the fans demand it. I just wish AAA would release him so he can stop making ridiculous statements and we don’t have to hear about this mess anymore.

TNA Talent Coming to AAA
In this week’s Wrestling Observer Dave Meltzer said that AAA was working to get TNA talent in for TripleMania this June. The only name mentioned was Jeff Hardy but also mentioned that there have been problems in the past trying to get him in because of the legal troubles he got into a few years (same reason he wasn’t able to go to the UK with TNA earlier this year).

INDY & OTHER NEWS

Lucha Legend in Japan
This week Lucha Libre legend Mil Mascaras defended teh ALLL Heavyweight Championship in Japan against NOSAWA. Mascaras successfully defended the belt in the Main Event of a show that also featured Dragon Gate’s Shingo Takagi as well as a slew of Japanese stars like Masato Tanaka, Minoru Suzuki, Ikuto Hidaka, Taka Michinoku, and Masaaki Mochizuki.

Mike Quackenbush Injured
At this past weekend’s big CHIKARA event at WrestleCon CHIKARA founder Mike Quackenbush suffered a cracked tibia on an Asai Moonsault during his match with Jushin Liger against Jigsaw & The Shard. According to Wrestling Observer Quack had back surgery earlier this year and actually came back early for this show just so he could team up with someone he looked up to (Liger). He also is suffering from a wrist and rib injury so he’s really hurting right now. After the WrestleCon event Quackenbush removed his bio from the roster page on CHIKARA’s website. It’s unclear just how long Quackenbush will be out.

After a ref bump Gargano low blowed Shinog and used his wrist tape to choke him out in the Gargano-No-Escape. The fans completely turned on Gargano to conclude the heel turn.

– Jushin Thunder Liger had his schedule open up after the Extreme Rising events were canceled so he ended up being Quack’s partner. Shane Douglas’ failure is CHIKARA’s gain as the match was said to have been really, really good.

* NOTES *
– During the Ladder Fray Christina Von Eerie seemed to injure her ankle on a dive. She was eliminated by 4 Superkicks in a row from the Bucks which popped the crowd huge. AR Fox eliminated Samuray del Sol with the Lo-Mei-Pain and then AR Fox eliminated Facade with Chocolate Rain. Ricochet then interfered and ended up getting Fox eliminated. Uhaa Nation then countered a More Bang For Your Buck into a rollup to eliminate Matt Jackson. Uhaa then nailed Nick with a Standing Moonsault/Shooting Star Press combo to win the match.
– During the 6-Man Tag Eita went for a Moonsault off the top to the outside and actually hit his head on the ring post on the way down splitting him open in a nasty spot. He seemed to be fine after that spot but was bleeding pretty bad. It didn’t seem like he was concussed. Ricochet got the pin in the match and per a pre-match stipulation he earned a shot at any title in DG-USA/Evovle. After the match Gargano challenged CIMA to put up his Dream Gate Title against Gargano’s belt in the future, but before he could say anything Jon Davis ran out and laid CIMA & Rich Swann out. Gargano then low blowed CIMA and left.
