Bushi Coming to CMLL
New Japan announced this week that Tetsuya Bushi will be coming back to Mexico for CMLL soon. Bushi spent a lot of time (almost 3 years) in Mexico a few years ago primarily working for IWRG and training under the legendary Skayde. They are saying he will work under the “Bushiroad” name but I’m not so sure about that one. He’s still wearing his mask in Japan that he lost back in 2009 to Oficial 911 in IWRG. Bushi is a former IWRG IC Lightweight Champion (twice) and he won the 2010 All Japan Junior Tag League Tournament with Super Crazy.

INDY & OTHER NEWS

This week Dragon Gate USA announced it’s return will be on 07/27 in Queens, NY (Elks Lodge) for “Bushido: Code of The Warrior ’13” and 07/28 in Manhattan, NY (Highline Ballroom) for “Enter The Dragon: 4th Anniversary Show.” Open the Freedom Gate Champion Johnny Gargano, Open the United Gate Champions The Young Bucks (Nick & Matt Jackson), EVOLVE Champion AR Fox, Open the Dream Gate Champion CIMA, Akira Tozawa, EITA, Tomahawk TT, Ricochet, and Tony Nese have all been signed for the events already.

Drama At NYC Lucha Event
This past weekend Fighting Spirit Wrestling (ran by the cousin of Amazing Red and former TNA star Joel Maximo) held a joint Lucha Libre event along with Amaro Productions in Queens, NY. The event (results below) flew in talent from all over America, Mexico, & Puerto Rico and had been promoted for several months ended up drawling less than 200 fans (which is disastrous for a show that is flying in so much talent). Well, PWInsider is reporting that at the end of the night Maximo & Amaro Prod. told the talent that they had no money to pay the talent and at one point it was claimed that “someone” stole the money. Many of the wrestlers were extremely upset (understandably so) and former WWE star Chris Masters lashed out at the promoters on his Twitter saying that they “screwed a whole locker room out of money” and telling all wrestlers to not do business with them. Later in the night Maximo contacted PWInsider and claimed that EVERY talent he personally booked for the event had been paid via check and PWI even confirmed with one unnamed talent on the show that Maximo had, in fact, paid him via check after tehs how. Furthermore Maximo said that the only non-FSW regular talent that he booked himself was Blue Demon Jr. and that he had also been paid, and he would be doing a training seminar in Brooklyn the next day. Maximo said that ALL pay issues were with talent that Amaro Prod. brought in and were obligated to pay. Maximo also said that the “theft” that Amaro Prod. was claiming there no theft at all. He said that Amaro never remibursed FSW for their half of the venue rental and also didn’t help cover costs for a sound system so FSO took that reimbursement from the live gate ticket sells which likely left Amaro without the money to pay their talent. Later in the week some of the talents that weren’t paid at the show told PWInsider that they were paid later.

El Hijo del Santo Gives Update On His Son
This past weekend El Hijo del Santo updated fans on the progress of his son’s training. A few months ago it was announced that his son would be heading to Japan this Summer (where I believe he already is) to train in the Pro Wrestling NOAH gym and he may actually wrestle for them. It was announced that he would be working under the Nieto del Santo name but Santo says that’s not the case, at least as he begins. In the beginning he will be known as “Tempestad” (which means “Storm”) and he will have to earn the Santo name. Santo also said that Tempestad has been training under the legendary Solar I since he was 12 years old and he’s now 16 years old. After his training in Japan is over he will move onto New Zealand to train there. Santo said that he has also been trained in Taekwondo, Jiu Jitsu, and Ne Waza (a form of Judo) which he won a competition in. It sounds like Santo is making sure his son gets seasoning and a lot of proper training before actually letting him wrestle, at least in Mexico. He may very well wrestling in Japan as Santo claims that NOAH wanted to use him on their shows as Nieto del Santo (to promote the Santo name) but he chose to use the Tempestad name instead because he hadn’t earned it yet.

Lucha in Japan
Crazy & Pesadilla continued their tour of Japan in Pro Wrestling NOAH this week. Also, NOAH announced that they would both be apart of the G-Cup Jr. Heavyweight Tag League as well. Crazy will reform his team with Ricky Marvin as Los Mexitosos while Pesadilla will be teaming with someone named “Dual Force” as a team called Ultra-Violence Lucha Libre. I’ve never heard of Dual Force but they are saying he’s a Mexican Luchador so maybe it’s Hijo del Santo’s son using that name rather than Tempestad that was previously announced. Other teams announced for the tournament are Taiji Ishimori & Atsushi Kotoge (last years winners), Daisuke Harada & Kumano, ROH’s Roderick Strong & Australian Slex, Shiori Asahi & HIro Tonai, the Souther American team Kaiser & Gaston Mateo, Japan England Technician Combi (Zack Sabre Jr. & Yoshinari Ogawa), and the team of Jushin Thunder Liger & Tiger Mask IV.
