The Final Impact

*Note: Let me apologize to those that read the Impact recap each week. My girlfriend broke down out in the middle of nowhere and I had to go help her which ended up causing me to miss the show. I apologize again.

This week began the “Final Four” of the TNA World Title Tournament with Kurt Angle vs. Magnus and Jeff Hardy vs. Bobby Roode. Angle opened up the show with a solid promo alongside his opponent Magnus.

Roode and Hardy a good, physical Tables Match but the taped feel really hurts these tournament matches. Good action nonetheless.

The ECIII stuff is beyond stale at this point but I will admit, seeing Hebner get messed with is always fun.

This Sam Shaw gimmick at the very least is interesting.

The Joseph Park stuff needs to come to an end. Bad Influence are being unbelievably wasted right now.

It was cool seeing Cherry Bomb in TNA but it was a glorified squash again. This thing with Gail needs to go somewhere quick.

Magnus and Angle had a really good Last Man Standing Match but Magnus just doesn’t come off to me as the Main Eventer they want him to be. Maybe he will grow on me but he doesn’t get much of a reaction really either.

AJ’s promo telling Dixie she would have to come to the “trailer park” to get the belt was great stuff. They need to sign AJ to a very long term contract, and yes I’ve heard the rumors.

Overall this show was all about the Tournament Matches which isn’t a bad thing necessarily but the matches weren’t blow away good to make up for the average and below average rest of the show.

Promo/Segment of the Night: Angle/Hardy/Roode/Magnus
Match of the Night: Roode vs. Hardy (***1/2)
Overall Grade: C
