6) Cibernetico, Perro Aguayo Jr., El Mesias, & La Parka Jr. def. Daga, Jeff Jarrett, Parka Negra, & Psicosis
* NOTES *
– In the Main Event Mesias pinned Jarrett clean and then El Consejo ran out and attacked the tecnicos. El Zorro ran out and acted like he was going to help the tecnicos but then attacked them and helped the rudos.
– After the Main Event Perro turned on the tecnicos attacking Cibernetico.
– For a major event this was a pretty standard, boring show with not much happening. The second match should be a pretty good watch however. The Main Event read as yet another iteration of La Sociedad once again, yes the same thing they’ve been doing over and over for a decade. AAA fans everywhere are really not happy about this and have been going at AAA on social media about rehashing La Legion/La Sociedad yet again. The worst thing is that Konnan does these things and then will turn right around and criticize other promotions for not being creative or rehashing old ideas.

LUCHA SPOTLIGHT
Extreme Tiger

With the recent signing of former AAA star Extreme Tiger to TNA in America this week’s Lucha Spotlight goes on Tiger, now wrestling as Ultimate Tiger, and a look at his career thus far.

Tiger was initially trained by the legendary Rey Misterio Sr. who is responsible for training Rey Misterio Jr., Konnan, Psicosis, Cassandro, Damian 666, and many others. Starting at a very young age, 17, Tiger made his official debut in the late 90’s under the name Tyger Mask a take on the legendary Tiger Mask from Japan. Tiger began working under the Extreme Tiger name for the WWA in Tijuana and then began working on underground lucha events, meaning they weren’t sanctioned by the Lucha Commission, adopting a more hardcore style working in death matches. Tiger eventually began working for hardcore promotions NGX and DTU.

Through the connection DTU shared with AAA, primarily becasue of AAA star Crazy Boy running DTU, Extreme Tiger was signed by AAA. Tiger’s AAA career began as an undercard wrestler and then in 2007 he won the Alas de Oro (Wings of Gold) Tournament, a tournament featuring young high fliers. Tiger then joined Juventud Guerrera’s Mexican Powers group along with Crazy Boy and Joe Lider.

A few months later Tiger was recruited by fellow Tijuana wrestler Halloween to join his new La Familia de Tijuana along with Nicho el Millionario (original Psicosis). Halloween and Tiger began teaming together regularly and even won the AAA Tag Team Titles from Tiger’s former Mexican Powers teammates Crazy Boy & Joe Lider. After a near 6 month title reign, Tiger’s first major title, Tiger and Halloween dropped the belts to La Hermandad 187 which consisted of two other former Tiger stable mates (Nicho from La Familia de Tijuana and Lider from Mexican Powers). Immediately after the match Halloween left AAA and Tiger was on his own.

Tiger attempted to defend his Alas de Oro crown in the 2008 version of the tournament falling to eventual winner Aerostar. As Tiger began to grow more confident as a singles wrestler he began to do less and less hardcore spots in his matches as well. Tiger made it all the way to the finals of the tournament to crown the very first AAA Cruiserweight Champion in 2009, but fell to Alex Koslov in the Finals. Just a few weeks later, however, Tiger won the title at TripleMania XVII from Koslov in a 4-Way Dance. Later in the year Tiger lost the belt back to Koslov at “Verano de Escandalo” but only weeks later Koslov was fired from AAA and forced to vacate the belt.

At “Heroes Inmortales III” Tiger won the belt back in a Ladder Match to crown a new champion and then Koslov returned to AAA and the two began feuding over the belt. Tiger retained the belt in their subsequent matches but eventually lost the belt to Jack Evans in an elimination match at TripleMania XVIII in 2010.

In 2011 Tiger won the Rey de Reyes Tournament defeating Carlito Colon, El Mesias, and the legendary L.A. Park in the Finals to earn a World Title shot that he would never receive. Just days after winning Rey de Reyes Tiger teamed with Jack Evans, the man who beat him for the AAA Cruiserweight Title a few months before, won the AAA Tag Team Titles from Los Maniacos (Silver King & Ultimo Gladiador). Tiger and Evans retained the belts until Heroes Inmortales ’11” against Abyss and Chessman in a TLC Match.

In 2012 Tiger teamed up with his former tag partner Halloween in a Parejas Suicidas Mask vs. Hair Steel Cage Match in which both were able to escape without losing their mask/hair. For the rest of the year Tiger bounced around the midcard given not much of a direction and never receiving the World Title shot he was guaranteed because of winning the 2011 Rey de Reyes Tournament.

Tiger then left AAA in November of 2012 and began working all across Mexico for various independent promotions including IWRG. Tiger also worked for various promotions in America before getting his try out with TNA last week. He wrestled Zema Ion and Cury Man on back to back nights in matches taped for TNA’s Youtube show Xplosion. Tiger could be a much needed breath of fresh air in TNA’s X-Division as the first true luchador the promotion has had in years.
