AAA USA Pushed Back Again
This week El Rey’s Mark Burnett and Robert Rodriguez revealed they would be executive producing AAA USA and that it would not start until at least the second half of 2014. Originally they claimed it would begin airing in early 2014. They announced this at a big TV press tour and release a “plot synopsis” of AAA USA: “Storylines and masks are characteristic of the sport Burnett said, explaining that the logline for the U.S. introduction involves five of the sports stars who have discovered a secret plot that’s going to destroy the very foundation of the sport and they’ve been exiled to America.” This sounds like a ridiculous sitcom rather than a wrestling show. No one from AAA was present at the press conference either. AAA later issued a press release saying that the show would be produced from Los Angeles.

Lucha Libre Hall of Fame
This week it was announced that there will be a Lucha Libre Expo in April but they also announced the creation of the Lucha Libre Hall of Fame which will be featured that month as well. The first inductions were announced as Salvador Lutteroth, Francisco Flores, Antonio Pena, Tarzan Lopez, Cavernario Galindo, Rayo de Jalisco, Ray Mendoza Sr., El Faraon, Villano III, Ringo Mendoza, El Solitario, Dos Caras Sr., Rito Romero, Blue Demon Sr., Alfonso Dantes, Irma Gonzalez, Estela Molina, Babe Face, & Gory Guerrero, The biggest omition on the list is obviously El Santo which has outraged many in Lucha Libre
Extreme Tiger in TNA Again
This week Extreme Tiger, as Ultimate Tiger, was again featured on TNA’s “Xplosion” TV show this time wrestling Curry Man (Christopher Daniels under a mask). Tiger even cut a promo in Spanish before the match saying that he was in TNA to represent Mexico. Tiger showed off his high spots and speed again, but fell to Curry Man in the end. It’s going to be interesting to see if Tiger ends up signing a deal with TNA. He is the perfect fit for the X-Division and a lot of the X-Division wrestlers like Austin Aries, Zema Ion, Chris Sabin, Daniels, and Kazarian have experience working with luchadors and other international styles.
