Sin Cara Update
This week Wrestling Observer claimed that Mistico/Sin Cara did not show his face or make any other further appearances for AAA following his debut because he is still under a 90 day non-compete with WWE, and that WWE threatened to sue if he appeared on TV. AAA won’t actually be able to use him on TV until May.
Octagon Leaves AAA
This week Octagon made an appearance on Lucha TV show “Tercera Caida” and revealed that he has officially left AAA. He says that he is officially an independent wrestler as of March and he will be taking more bookings as such. He mentioned that he doesn’t have any plans to go to CMLL at this point, which is good because there is about a 0% chance that CMLL would hire him.

Tigre Uno Speaks Out
This week MedioTiempo spoke to recent TNA signing Tigre Uno (formerly Extreme Tiger) about coming to TNA. Tigre says his tryout with TNA came about because he contacted TNA when he was doing a recent tour of the U.S., and TNA invited him for a try out. He said that TNA liked his style and offered him a contract following his tryout matches. He also says that TNA and he came to an agreement that he will be allowed to continue to work in Mexico as long as nothing conflicts with his TNA schedule. He called his debut at Lockdown a “great moment” for himself and that he is going to push himself hard to win over both TNA and the fans. Uno was originally scheduled to team with the legendary Great Muta and Senada in a 6-Man Tag Team Steel Cage Match against Bad Influence & Chris Sabin, but this week it was changed and Tigre was replaced by another Japanese wrestler in the match. Tigre Uno will now face former TNA X-Division Champion Manik in a Steel Cage Match at Lockdown! Manik formerly worked in Mexico as Puma, TJP, and in Lucha Libre USA as Sydistiko. Manik was trained by Negro Casas in Lucha Libre which is a bit of a coincidence as Tigre Uno was trained by Rey Mysterio Jr., in the 80’s Casas and Misterio opened their first training gym together.

This past weekend Japanese Pro Wrestling NOAH held a tryout in Taluancingo, Mexico and DTU’s Jinzo was awarded a trip to Japan for a tour of NOAH as the winner of the tryout.
