10/22 Impact: Very mediocre offering from TNA

The Final Impact

Tonight felt like the most filler we have seen on Impact in quite some time. I love the idea of putting together new tag teams but almost half of the field just came off like thrown together filler teams. The plus side is that the remaining teams are the most intriguing teams and could result in some fun matches.

The opener was the best match of the card with the Hardyz and Bro-Mans actually having a fun little match. It was way too short but The Hardyz are hitting on all cylinders as a team right now. Their chemistry together is second to none.

It was cool to see Gail back and I really hope she and Havok get a chance to really shine because they haven’t even scratched the surface of what they could do together yet.

Joe and Low-Ki is certainly an intriguing team and I’m glad they advanced. Brittany is absolutely gorgeous and the dynamic with Shaw with them both being psychos is at least interesting. I just hope they don’t try to have her do too many AJ Lee mannerisms. She already looks similar to her.

The other tag matches weren’t very good but again at least the right teams won and hopefully the Semfinals will be much better and much longer. I like Tyrus in the ring but I want to see him in a really physical match.

I’m beyond sick of these garbage matches. Bram is really intense and I like him, and his promo work is even good, but I have no desire to see hardcore matches every week. Bram and Magnus should have just simply been in the tag tournament.

James Storm trying to get in between The Wolves is cool and I love his character right now. It could be cool if this leads to Storm just trying to get between them so he can get Manik and Sanada a shot at the titles down the line.

The showdown with Roode and Lashley was excellent and Roode really came off great on the microphone and Lashley looks strong not taking the cowards way out and being a fighting champion. Angle being added makes it seem like it will be a fair shot finally as well adding to the match.

There wasn’t anything awful tonight but it was just all very mediocre and honestly a bit boring. They need to really ramp things back up heading into the new year, and for God’s sake announce a TV deal if there is one!

– Segment/Promo of the Night: Bobby Roode
– Match of the Night: Hardyz vs. Bro-Mans (**1/2)
– Overall Grade: D

Until next week… PEACE!
