The debut episode of AAA’s USA project with El Rey Network last week drew just over 8,000 viewers in the 18-49 year old age bracket. The average age of viewers was 49 years old so it is obvious that the biggest chunk of viewership was older people, but regardless it is a pretty horrible number. El Rey is still struggling to find viewers for any of its shows but “Lucha Underground” is hoped to be one of the shows ot bring in those viewers. It should be noted, though, that many cable networks STILL do not carry the network (mine included).

L.A. Park Not Coming to CMLL After all
After last weeks incredibly shocking return of L.A. Park to CMLL it has been revealed that Park is not returning to CMLL at all. His appearance at last week’s Friday Arena Mexico event was simply a promotional appearance for the new independent “All Elite” events. Either All Elite’s backers have some major pull with CMLL or they paid a ton of money to get that appearance. Regardless it seems that INDY promotion is going absolutely all out with these events.

New Promotion Putting On Massive Mask/Hair Tournament
This week the new indy promotion All Elite, that managed to get the previously “banned” L.A. Park back into Arena Mexico during a CMLL event to promote their shows, announced that their upcoming events (lineups below) would be the beginning of a huge tournament called “Liga Elite Tournament.” It will feature CMLL stars Volador Jr., Rush, La Sombra, Atlantis, and Ultimo Guerrero along with legends L.A. Park and Dr. Wagner Jr. along with current TNA star Tigre Uno and independent luchadors Chavo Guerrero Jr., Hernandez, Zumbi, and Super Nova. It will be a point based tournament with each luchador of a winning team in a tag team match earning 3 points and winners of singles matches earning 5 points. At the end of a six week run the four with the most points will then face off in a single elimination tournament, but there will also be a “losers” single elimination tournament with the bottom 4 points getters facing off with the eventual loser having to unmask or shave his head!
