Alberto del Rio/WWE Reach Agreement, Makes First U.S. Appearance
Earlier this week it was revealed that former WWE Champion and current AAA star Alberto el Patron aka Alberto del Rio/Dos Caras Jr. has reached an agreement with the WWE. Previously WWE was trying to block him from wrestling in America or elsewhere for “breach of contract” in regards to the way he was let go, with him slapping a WWE.com employee. According to PWInsider the two sides reached an agreement that neither side will disparage the other and del Rio will be allowed to work wherever he chooses. Alberto then made a surprise appearance at this past weekend’s House of Hardcore event in Philadelphia at the ECW Arena. Alberto sounded legitimately excited to be appearing at the ECW Arena for the first time. He did not wrestle at the event but did appear alongside his former ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez.

Rush Breaks Leg
Last week Rush injured his leg at an All Elite event and after it initially seemed that he sprained his ankle, it has been confirmed that he actually broke two bones in his leg. He will be out for at least two months with the injury and likely miss CMLL’s tour in Japan in January.
Dorada & Fuego In Japan
This week CMLL’s Mascara Dorada & Fuego finished up their recent tour of Japan where they took part in New Japan’s annual Super Junior Tag Tournament. Dorada teamed with former IWRG star Tetsuya Bushi while Fuego teamed with Ryusuke Taguchi with both teams losing in the first round. Doada & Fuego went the rest of the tour taking pinfalls in pretty much every single match they were involved in. In fact, the only time Fuego saw a win were the two times he faced jobbers in singles matches. Dorada didn’t get a win until the “Power Struggle” iPPV on 11/08 when he teamed with Bushi to defeat Fuego & Tiger Mask, but even that was just a pre-show dark match that the iPPV fans didn’t see.

Sombra Headed Back to Japan
This week New Japan announced the lineup for their upcoming World Tag League Tournament at the end of the month. CMLL’s La Sombra will be teaming with a man that is no stranger to CMLL, Tetsuya Naito, in the tournament as a part of Block A. Other teams in that block are Hiroshi Tanahashi and former WWE star Yoshi Tatsu, Hiroyoshi Tenzan & the legendary Satoshi Kojima, Kazuchika Okada & YOSHI-HASHI, former TNA World Champion AJ Styles & Naito’s former partner Yujiro Takahashi, Karl Anderson & former TNA/WWE star DOC Gallows (DOC aka Luke Gallows), former WWE star Rob Conway & Jax Dane, and ROH’s team of Matt Taven and Mike Bennett. We will get to see AJ Styles and La Sombra in the same ring together during this tournament which should be pretty awesome especially since Sombra’s partner Naito is feuding with Styles right now and Styles is also teaming with Naito’s former No Limit partner and Sombra has history with both.
