Octagon/AAA Issues
Recently Octagon has been telling anyone that will listen that he is going to sue AAA for “wrongful termination” while at the same time freely admitting that he “left” AAA to work indies. He claims that he left AAA in March of last year and then was bad and confused when AAA didn’t book him on their major shows before AAA “fired” him in October. How AAA can fire someone that has “left” and why that person would be upset that he wasn’t booked on big shows after “leaving” is beyond me. He also claims that he owns the “Octagon” name and AAA claims they own it. Considering he used that name in CMLL before coming to AAA that is a possibility but Antonio Pena came up with the gimmick when he worked for CMLL so it is also possible that Pena trademarked the name. Even more ridiculous is that Octagon is claiming that he is suing AAA for “back pay” and vacation time he claims AAA owes him for firing him. This is a guy that barely worked, and was horrible when he did work, claiming he is owed vacation time (if AAA gave anyone vacation time I would be shocked). Octagon has been pretty awful in the ring for a few years and really stopped trying before he lost most of his ability. He was released from AAA because they were barely using him and he had lost the majority of his ability so it is unlikely Octagon is going to get anything out of this lawsuit other than maybe keeping his name since there is a chance he really does own it.
