WWE Smackdown Review (Layin’ the Smarkdown)

Hey friends, it’s Alex Kahrs ready to lay the SmarkDown on this week’s edition of, well, SmackDown! I’d like to start off by thanking those of you who pointed out some things I missed on the recap this week; apologies for not catching those, but I greatly appreciate the feedback and help! That said, let’s get into the swing of things…

Opening Promo: Great stuff here to continue the angle between Rollins and Kane. I loved the premise of Kane putting “the Demon” into a match, and Rollins forcing Kane to be at ringside. A classic “split identity” angle with a nice twist for this particular situation. By the way, it’s October, which means Halloween, which suddenly means this whole angle makes more logical sense…I think. Still, great angle going on here!

Six Woman Tag: A decent enough match here. Of all the Divas in this so-called revolution, my personal favorite is Naomi and those light-up sneakers she wears every so often. Also, that entrance theme is way too catchy for its own good. “I’m a I’m a-mayayayayayzin” indeed. Lest we forget come Monday night, the former NXT Women’s Champion made the former WWE Divas Champion tap out. Great things in store for Sasha Banks on the main roster.

Seth Rollins/New Day Segment: Yes, just all the yes. I don’t think I need to go any further on this, do I?

PCB/Natalya Segment: The drama between Paige and her former teammates is starting to be a nice touch in this Divas Revolution angle. I’m also grateful Natalya is starting to be used on TV more.

IC Title Match: A great back and forth affair between these two, proving their NOC match wasn’t just a fluke. Loved the bit where Owens taunted Ryback with his own “Feed Me More” taunt in the corner. Smart move by Owens to get himself counted out to keep the belt, I’m looking forward to seeing this feud progress now.

Six Man Tag: Repetitive as they may be, these men are great at putting on a great match. Just a lot of fun from these guys, and I’m always a fan of the Stardust character.

Wyatt/Reigns Showdown: Simple but effective segment to push the idea of these guys in a Hell in a Cell at the PPV. Should be fun.

Main Event: Match was a lot of storyline to say the least, with no sign of Demon Kane until the end. Follow this with a lot of destruction by the Demon, and the angle for HIAC is looking quite promising indeed.

Well, that’s SmackDown for me. What did you think of the show? Do you know where I can get those amazing light up shoes, and/or know of a more catchy theme tune from a wrestler? Is there anything the New Day CAN’T do? Let me know! Leave a comment here, or tell me on Twitter @Power2TheSmarks!

Till next time, this is Alex Kahrs reminding you to be excellent to one another. Party on, dudes! (air guitar)
