AAA

Rey vs. Low-Ki in Jersey
This past weekend Rey Misterio Jr. had a dream match with former WWE and TNA star Low-Ki at Jersey All Pro Wrestling’s “19th Anniversary Show” in Rahway, New Jersey. Low-Ki and Rey had been building up the match through promos where they talked about the proposed feud between the two in WWE years ago. Ki claimed in his promos that Rey was the reason he was fired from WWE (all kayfabe obviously). The match was said to have been absolutely excellent and it is expected that we will see more of that with Ki working with AAA and ZZInc. right now.

Cibrenetico Officially Leaves, All-Elite Teases Cuervo Leaving Too
After all of the talk and rumors about Cibernetico leaving AAA last week he officially appeared for All-Elite on the 11/15 event marking his first appearance in Arena Mexico after he no-showed AAA’s TV Taping over the weekend. Averno and Chessman had been expected to come with him but both appeared for AAA instead. Then, on Monday CMLL posted a lineup for the 11/22 Arena Mexico event with AAA’s Cuervo in the Main Event. They quickly removed his name from the lineup and Cuervo appeared as scheduled for the 11/15 TV Taping for AAA so it is unknown what the deal there is. I guess we will find out this weekend. Konnan did an interview on the MLW Podcast this week and claimed that Cibernetico was under contract with AAA and that AAA’s lawyers have already contacted Ciber and All-Elite. Konnan says they will enforce the contract and that All-Elite has attempted to get several other AAA/Lucha Underground stars to jump. CMLL and All-Elite held a press conference mid-week and Cibernetico and All-Elite claimed that more AAA stars would be following him. Ciber says that he doesn’t believe he is under contract because he asked AAA to show him the contract that they claimed they had but they never would show him. El Terrible of CMLL conducted an interview the same day and criticized Ciber’s ability saying that he was a terrible wrestler and he would have to prove that he belongs in Arena Mexico in the ring.

Fenix Match in Chicago
This week American promotion AAW announced that AAA’s Fenix would be facing Tommaso Ciampa at their “Windy City Classic” event. It had already been announced that Pentagon Jr. would also be facing Chris Hero at the event.

Laredo Kid Signing with Lucha Underground?
This week former AAA star Laredo Kid said during an interview that he would be working with Lucha Underground soon. He has had a couple of try outs with WWE this year and has even trained in Florida down in NXT some as well. He has also appeared for AAA a few times this year as well. Laredo Kid’s former partners Aerostar and Super Fly were big parts of the first season of Lucha Underground.

AAA 11/15 “Sin Limite” Ciudad Juarez Results
1) Centinela, Mr. Afla, & Pagano def. Aereo, Dragon, & Latino
2) AAA Minis Title: Dinastia (c) def. Mini Abismo Negro to retain the title!
3) Australian Suicide & Speedball def. Daga & Steve Pain
4) Garza Jr., Monster Clown, & Murder Clown def. Cuervo, Escoria, & El Zorro
5) Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Parka Negra, & Taurus def. Blue Demon Jr., Electroshock, & La Parka Jr.
6) Averno, Chessman, & Psicosis def. Chris Masters, Psycho Clown, & Rey Misterio Jr.
* NOTES *
– The third match was said to have been a great match. Daga attacked Suicide after the match.
– El Zorro asked Cuervo and Escoria to join a new group that he is forming.
– Original Psicosis replaced Cibernetico in the Main Event marking it as the first time he and Rey had been in a AAA ring together since 1996, and the first time they had been in the ring together at all since 2005. It was also the first time he had been in AAA since 2014. If he is going to be the permanent replacement for Cibernetico in the Hell Brothers that is a massive upgrade. Chris Masters was the surprise partner for the tecnicos though he is working as a rudo on the ZZInc. shows oddly enough. Rey pinned Psicosis clean in the match after a Frog Splash as a tribute to Eddie Guerrero. Chris Masters injured his knee in the match and will likely need surgery to repair it.
– The show was a sellout with a huge crowd.

Lucha Underground 11/21 TV Taping Spoilers
* DARK MATCH: Jeff Cobb def. El Mariachi Loco

2) King Cuerno def. Killshot
3) Gauntlet Match: Chavo Guerrero Jr., Mr. Cisco, & Cortez Castro def. Texano Jr.
4) Johnny Mundo def. Cage
5) Cobra def. Sexy Star
6) Prince Puma fought Pentagon Jr. to a NO CONTEST
7) Gift of the Gods Title Ladder Match: Fenix def. King Cuerno (c) to win the title!
* NOTES *
– Jack Evans cut a rudo promo before the opener and he started calling himself the “Dragon Slayer.” During the match Drago came out and taunted Jack. Drago tried to spit mist at Jack but hit PJ by accident leading to Evans pinned Black.
– After Cuerno pinned Killshot Fenix ran out to make the save.
– Texano pinned Cisco and Cortez pretty quickly but had a long match with Chavo that ended when Cortez tripped him from the outside and then held his feet down, from the floor, as Chavo pinned him.
– A mystery woman distracted Cage in his match leading to Mundo winning in a great match.
– Cobra was said to be Alissa Flash/Cheerleader Melissa in a new gimmick but others have said it definitely wasn’t her. The Mack came out and cheered Sexy Star on in the match Marty the Moth came out and distracted Sexy leading to a Cobra win.
– Puma and Pentagon really didn’t get going too much when Mil Muertes ran out and attacked both of them.
– Fenix and Cuerno fought all over the building and Fenix hit a Frankensteiner off the top sending Cuerno through a table. Fenix pulled the title down to regain it and then Mil Muertes appeared on his throne and had a staredown with Fenix. Said to have been an awesome match.
– Seven matches and six of them involved outside interference. Very, very disappointing and doesn’t sound like Lucha Underground.

CMLL

La Sombra Signs with WWE
Thursday the WWE officially announced that CMLL star La Sombra has signed a developmental deal with the promotion and has already reported to their NXT Training Center. Sombra will likely debut with NXT sometime next year. It has been rumored for months that Sombra was signing with WWE and now that has come true. It makes several of CMLL’s recent booking decisions seem a lot clearer like throwing together the Mask Match with Atlantis last minute, the feud ending match with Volador, and the quickly thrown together match with Rush. CMLL has likely known that he was leaving for months unlike the way that Mistico/Sin Cara left a few years ago which was abrupt. CMLL thanked Sombra for what he has done in the promotion, via Twitter, and Sombra did the same in regards to Paco Alonso and CMLL.

Naito Talks About Sombra
This week NJPW’s Tetsuya Naito talked about Sombra signing with WWE. He said that when he made his appearance in CMLL back in October his entire trip to Mexico was for him to talk to Sombra about future plans for the NJPW version of Los Ingobernables and bringing Sombra back to Japan. He says that Sombra did not tell him that he was going to WWE but that he could tell Sombra was heading down a different path than what they had originally been talking about. He also said that Sombra had told him previously that WWE was his dream. He says that Los Ingobernables will continue in Japan and he has added former IWRG star Tetsuya Bushi to that group in Japan.

FantasticaMania 2016 Roster Announced
This week CMLL announced the roster of luchadors heading to Japan for the annual FantasticaMania tour in January and there were some surprises most notably that neither La Sombra nor Rush were among the list of wrestlers going over. We found out later in the week why Sombra wasn’t going. Mistico II, Volador Jr., Atlantis, Guerrero Maya Jr., Stuka Jr., Dragon Lee, Fuego, Mascara Dorada (already there), Titan, The Panther, Mephisto, Ultimo Guerrero, Hechicero, Bobby Z, Virus, Barbaro Cavernario, and Shigeo Okumura are the guys that are going. Guerrero Maya Jr. was part of the En Busca de un Idolo Tournament that Bobby Z won. The point of that tournament was that the winner would earn a spot on the FantasticaMania Tour. Maya didn’t win yet he is still going. It is expected that one of those luchadors will be staying for a full year like Mascara Dorada has done this year.
