Alex Kahrs reviews WWE Smackdown for 12/3/15

WWE Smackdown Review (Layin’ the SmarkDown!)

Hello, Wrestleviewniverse and welcome to another exciting edition of Layin’ The SmarkDown! I’m super excited to be back at it after a nice break for Thanksgiving, so let’s get right into it!

Opening Promo: I liked the way they set the matches up for later in the night. The idea that the odds *could* be stacked against Roman was intriguing, and New Day laughing like maniacs at the thought of screwing him over by defeating Ambrose and the Usos was pure gold.

Breeze/Neville: Good match between these guys, it was nice to see two of NXT’s finest (for different reasons) have a good match on the main stage. I’m hoping both guys get some really good feuds in play soon, I’m certainly intrigued by the Miz/Neville deal but I’ll get to that in a bit.

Divas Stuff: Was there, mostly. I do like the continued dissension between Charlotte and Becky, and hope that we can soon get into a focus on singles feuds more. The Bella/Lynch match was good, as well. However…no, I can’t buy into Charlotte’s reasoning for getting involved at the end. No, Charlotte, you can’t just run into your friend’s match and disrupt it just to get back at someone for hitting you. That’s not okay, Charlotte. That nonsense just doesn’t fly with me.

Neville/Miz Segment: Got gonna lie, I like the way this unfolded. Miz trying to make Neville more of a “star” by offering his mentorship is pretty smart heel work, and I think this could be a really good angle/feud. It does make me miss Damien Sandow, though…”The Stunt Double That WWE Creative Forgot” does have a ring to it.

Six Man Tag Must Win Scenario: This was fun, simple as. New Day shining bright as ever in this match, and the desperation by the faces was great. Sets up the insurmountable odds for Roman in the main event.

Side Note: R-Truth’s gimmick must now be randomly trolling the crowd on SmackDown. I’m okay with that.

D-Von/Bray: Great match, everyone involved did some great stuff. Short but sweet on the match itself, but the follow-up helps build that story. I’m hoping Spike shows up to make this a full 4 on 4 affair, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

Side Note 2: Noticeably absent with ADR’s inclusion in the League is Zeb Colter at his side, and frankly I’m okay with that. I think they can find something better for Zeb in the near future.

Main Event: Good, good match here. If you’re gonna make Roman look strong, this is about as good a way as any. The constant beatdown by the League was smart, as was Reigns fighting back with everything he’s got. Decent finish keeps both Reigns and the League looking good coming out of it as we head closer to TLC.

Well, that does it for this week. What did you think of SmackDown? Are you digging this League of Nations angle? Do you think “Sheamus 5:15” is a good play on history, or just a terrible knockoff? Where would you like to see R-Truth pop up to troll the crowd next?

Let me know in the comments or on Twitter @Power2TheSmarks!

Till next time, this is Alex Kahrs reminding you to be excellent to each other. Party on, dudes!
