WWE Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Predictions

Well the final PPV of 2015 is upon us, and I have to admit I’m not interested in watching this show whatsoever. Aside from the Dean Ambrose/Kevin Owens match, I’m not looking forward to anything. Part of it is because these storylines have been built up so poorly. Another reason is these gimmick matches are so played out. An entire PPV dedicated to gimmick matches being ham-fisted into feuds even if they don’t really belong. Instead of trying to get some cheap views with tired matches, how about booking some compelling matches and if they call for a gimmick then you use the gimmick? This is the problem that everyone knew would eventually happen when they started doing these gimmick PPVs five or six years ago – they eventually get played out and no one cares about the gimmick anymore. Does Hell in a Cell garner the same feeling as it used to? That was the be all end all for feuds. Now it’s just another match. What a frustrating time this is. Like I said in my review this week, this is the new WWE and it’s not going to get any better.

Eight Man Elimination Tables Match
The Dudley Boyz, Tommy Dreamer, and Rhyno vs. The Wyatt Family

This match just screams “we don’t have anything for these guys at the moment, so let’s just throw them together.” I’m not sure what they’re actually fighting about because there hasn’t been any personal issue really established between them. It really just feels like a gimmick match for the sake of having a gimmick match. In any event, it should be a fun match. The Undertaker and Kane easily handled the Wyatts last month, so I can’t see them losing to a team that is seen strictly as a nostalgia act. It’s time to get some heat back.

Prediction: The Wyatt Family

Ryback vs. Rusev

So the first few times they’ve done this match have stunk, so let’s give them a spot on the PPV? What’s the point of this match? I find myself constantly asking myself that as I think about this entire card. Now that Rusev is back with Lana, the heel act needs the win.

Prediction: Rusev

WWE Divas Championship Match
Paige vs. Charlotte (c)

I can honestly say that I don’t care about this match whatsoever. The storyline is atrocious and the two matches they’ve had prior were about as exciting as a vasectomy with no anesthetic. It’s just a total train wreck. I’m guessing Charlotte will retain because she’s a heel (I guess) and will get an assist from her father.

Prediction: Charlotte retains

WWE Tag Team Championships – Triple Threat Ladder Match
The Usos vs. The Lucha Dragons vs. The New Day (c’s)

If it weren’t for The New Day, WWE would be completely unwatchable in my opinion. What a tremendous act they turned out to be. They’ve been ridiculously entertaining for a good portion of the year. I thought they made a big mistake when they took the titles off them in favor of the lukewarm Prime Time Players, but they quickly rectified that mistake, and they’ve been a hot act ever since. I don’t think it’s the right time to take the titles off them. The Lucha Dragons are just in this match to bump around and do some neat moves. I could see them going with The Usos, but they haven’t been all that interesting since coming back. Personally, I think they go to their bag of tricks way too often. Do they need to do those reckless dives over the top rope every match? Shouldn’t that be saved for special matches? They’re asking for a major injury doing it every since night. I think the smart move is to stick with The New Day.

Prediction: The New Day retains

WWE United States Championship – Chairs Match
Jack Swagger vs. Alberto Del Rio (c)

Nice to see that the United States Championship is back to being an afterthought now that John Cena isn’t the champion anymore. All that prestige he brought to the belt, all the great open challenges that helped RAW be palatable for 1/2 the year, is gone. It’s just another belt on another guy that doesn’t mean a whole lot of anything to the show. What a complete nonentity Del Rio has been since his return. He got saddled with that hideous Mex-America gimmick at the start of his return that immediately killed any momentum he gained by being one of only a handful of guys that has pinned Cena clean, and he’s been a total nothing ever since. Even his participation in the League of Nations hasn’t yielded any interesting results. Well that’s the problem with the whole League of Nations in general. The result of this match isn’t in doubt. The only question is if they were swerving us with the Zeb Colter breakup or is that awful storyline going to continue.

Prediction: Alberto Del Rio retains

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens (c)

This should really be a good match if they give it some time. I thought their match at Survivor Series was pretty good, but I feel like they can do even better. I’m glad there’s no gimmick attached to this one. Just let them have a straight match and see what happens. I think Owens should have Sheamus’s spot right now, but they can go a long way into making him the next top heel with a great performance in this match and a good finish.

Prediction: Kevin Owens retains

WWE World Heavyweight Championship – TLC Match
Roman Reigns vs. Sheamus (c)

This is the match I really don’t get. The Authority has gone out of their way to screw Reigns out of the championship and send him back to the bottom only to give him an opportunity on the next show? How in the hell does that make any sense? Sheamus is a really, really weak champion, but I doubt they’re taking the title off him right now. That’s another thing that is just so stupid and this time it’s not from a storyline perspective. It’s from a company perspective. They’re trying to make Reigns their top guy. Ok – it’s been a complete failure thus far, but they’re going to die on this hill. He’s failed numerous times at getting the championship throughout the year, and they keep booking him into corners where he has to fail time and time again. How is booking him like a guy who can’t come up big when it matters going to help him? Reigns should be facing someone else and getting some steam back. They had him crying at the end of the last PPV. I’ve given up trying to figure out what this company does anymore. It just never makes sense.

Prediction: Sheamus retains

The last time I did predictions was for Night Of Champions and I went undefeated with an 8-0 record on my predictions. It’s not the first time I’ve gone undefeated, but it felt pretty sweet.

Predictions Record for 2015: 46-25 (.648)

While my 2015 record is too close to .500 for my liking, my all-time predictions record is pretty darn good.

All-time Predictions Record: 85-39 (.685)

Well, those are my predictions for the show. Do you agree? Disagree? Let me know!
