Wagner Coming to Lucha Underground?
In this week’s Wrestling Observer Dave Meltzer claims that Lucha Underground has contacted Dr. Wagner Jr. about appearing for their “Ultima Lucha 2” taping this weekend, and that there is a good chance that he will show up.
Lucha Underground Ratings
This past week’s Season Two premiere episode of Lucha Underground debuted to a show record 109,000 viewers (with an additional 85,000 on the replay) which is also a record for the El Rey Network. Hopefully Lucha Underground will continue to grow their viewership as the season goes on especially considering some potential huge stars that are coming in.
Pentagon Jr. Interviewed by Rolling Stone
This week Rolling Stone released a very rare interview with AAA/Lucha Underground star Pentagon Jr. with Pentagon breaking character (even more rare). He said that the “Cero Miedo Match” from the first season was the biggest match of his career and he was very excited to be working with Vampiro in the match. He talked about everyone in Lucha Underground feeling like a family and he said that he loved that there was more than just the in-ring aspect to Lucha Underground. “Every luchador in Lucha Underground has a strong motive, and there’s a story behind them,” he said. He said that he was surprised when it was revealed to him that Vampiro would be his “maestro” in season one and didn’t find out until very late in the season that it would be happening. He also talked about his origin story of becoming Pentagon Jr. saying that AAA offered him the Pentagon name when he started with the promotion and that the only way he would agree to it was that he could tweak the character to make it his own (like the face paint and the mask and slogan). He was asked about possibly going to WWE and he said that he would never say no to anything and that he would love to do it down the line.

All-Elite Going After AAA/Lucha Underground Stars
According to Meltzer the All-Elite Promotion is continuing to go after AAA stars after luring away Myzteziz and Cibernetico last year, but they are also going after Lucha Underground stars as well. The AAA wrestlers don’t seem to be budging and the Lucha Underground wrestlers are locked in with contracts so they couldn’t jump even if they wanted to. It would be a shock to me if they were ever able to get any more big names to come in at this point. All-Elite is obviously shelling out some money for these names, and it has been long rumored that CMLL is financially backing them at least some, but how long can that money last with the terrible houses they have been drawing to the weekly events? All-Elite seemed like a good idea to run every few months, or even every month, at Arena Mexico but it has been a massive failure as a weekly show.
Lucha Underground Releases Comic Book
This week, before the premiere of season two, Lucha Underground announced that they were releasing a new comic book which will tie-in to the stories in season two.
