OH WRESTLEVIEWNIVERSE, DON’T YOU DARE BE SOUR! CLAP FOR YOUR LOCALLY WORLD FAMOUS SMACKDOWN REVIEW, AND FEEL THE POWAH!

It’s a special Kahrsaversary edition of Layin’ The Smarkdown! That’s right, as of April 15 your favorite* Smackdown recapper turns 28…but I’m giving YOU the gift of Jeric–I mean, Layin’ the Smarkdown!

* This is purely the opinion of the writer, and has no basis in fact. If it IS true, though, you’re more than welcome to say so in the comments! 😉

MizTV: Hilarious in its concept, decent enough in its execution. My heart and soul is crying because this clearly marks the end of Miz/Ryder for now…Mike Tedesco might be okay with this, but I’m not. #WWWYKI (By the way, I say that tongue in cheek, but I have been rooting for the guy since the days of Z! True Long Island Story. Does that make Zack Ryder the John Cena/Roman Reigns of the Wrestleviewniverse!?)

Ryder/Corbin: Pour a 40 out for Zack Ryder’s semi-push. Good match, though. I really hope something good comes out of this feud with Ziggler, other than knowing Ziggler can get tossed around like a ragdoll.

Paige/Emma: I quite like that now we’re at least being given some insight on Emma’s change in attitude, considering she popped back up at Wrestlemania and they never really touched on it during that ten women match. You know, Team BAD & Blonde against the Total Women. Yes, transitioning out of calling them Divas is hard, just ask poor Mauro who didn’t seem to know if he could refer to Paige as a former Divas Champion. Anyways, this was a good match and it’s kinda nice to see Emma get back on the winning path upon returning to the main roster.

Side note: Good on you for booking that tag match, Shane. Teddy Long would be proud, playa. #HollaHollaHolla

Side note #2: Enzo & Cass are a refreshing change of pace in the tag division and the promo department…and you can’t teach that! #HowYouDoin

Enzo/Cass vs Ascension: Good little showcase of what Enzo and Cass continue to bring to the main roster. I’d love nothing more than for these guys to get to the finals and win it all. How you doin’?

Styles/ADR Segment: Nice confrontation, even if the insults are coming from a guy who’s been spinning his wheels since returning to WWE. In my head, a good comeback would’ve involved AJ promising he’d send ADR back to “the underground”…but alas, maybe I’m alone in wanting something that deep lol.

Styles vs ADR: This was fun, pure and simple. ADR looking a little more motivated which was nice, and I liked the fact the crowd was slightly behind him given it was San Diego. The sooner they can end this League of Nations nonsense and give the guys something more substantial, the better.

Goldust/Truth/Fandango: Okay, let’s talk about this…because I’m a bit annoyed. Mike and I have our differences concerning Zack Ryder, but on Golden Truth we can agree: what WAS the point!? It’d be one thing if these two kept up the “will they or won’t they” for this long to finally get them to settle their differences for a shot at the tag team titles…but NOOOOOO, we get Randomdango in the mix because hurr hurr, the odd couple still can’t get it together. You get it together, WWE Creative. This is somehow more annoying than some of the other stuff we’re putting up with. And no I’m not calling that team Goldango. Don’t try to make it a thing, it’s not a thing and you know it.

Vaudevillains vs Goldust/Fandango: Like I said, I’m not calling them Goldango. You get out of here with that noise, WWE Creative. The match itself was decent for what it was, further showcasing the Vaudevillains and one of my favorite gimmicks in WWE right now.

Jericho Segment: Every time Jericho gets into one of his little rants, I wait for the other shoe to drop. “By the way, lemme tell ya about TrueCar…” This was a good little segment, though. I enjoy when Y2J cuts a promo, other than his constant sponsorship ads during his podcast haha.

Side note #3: Man, I can’t wait for the Colons to come back.

Zayn/Jericho: There was a lot going on during this match, just a little too much emphasis on the bickering between Owens and Ambrose on commentary. There, that’s my one minor gripe out the way…this was a great back and forth affair between Zayn and Jericho. Zayn is straight fire, and this match was proof of that. I actually loved the DQ ending, as it brought the feud between Owens and Zayn to the forefront. You’ve got Jericho about to bring the heat to his feud with Ambrose on top of that, and this was a great ending to another fun episode of Smackdown!

That’s it for this week. What did you think of Smackdown? Are you as hurt as I am about Ryder’s return to obscurity? Can you come up with a good, logical way to put this Golden Truth angle out of its misery? Let me know in the comments, or on Twitter @Power2TheSmarks where you can also find the latest updates on the site, the podcast, and much more! Until next time, this is Alex Kahrs reminding you to be excellent to each other. Party on, dudes!
