===================================

WSU, the leader in womens wrestling in the northeast, teams up once again with the NWS promotion to present the third annual Womens J-Cup Tournament. This tournament has become the most important tournament in womens wrestling in its short history. Previous winners Alexa Thatcher & Mercedes Martinez turned their J-Cup victories into WSU Championships. In fact, the hottest & most intense feud in WSU history, the feud between Mercedes Martinez & Angel Orsini all began at last year’s J-Cup. It is a feud that still wages war to this very day!

A win in the J-Cup doesn’t only give the winner bragging rights for one night, but gives the winner an automatic shot at the WSU Championship that can be cashed in at any time during the year. This tournament has produced new stars and this year looks to follow that tradition.

WSU had to field many applications from interested wrestlers looking to be part of this tournament. In the end, WSU agreed to terms with the following 8 wrestlers for this tournament:

Former WSU Champion Angel Orsini
Rain
WSU Tag Champion Brooke Carter
WSU Tag Champion Miss April
Former 2-Time WSU Tag Champion Roxxie Cotton
Former 2-Time WSU Tag Champion Annie Social
Trixxie Lynn
Jennifer Cruz

There are many developing storylines in this tournament due to wrestlers allegiances and foes. Could the WSU Tag Champions square off? Could the Beatdown Betties square off? And how about Angel Orsini & Rain, who seem to want complete domination of WSU? However, could WSU rookies Trixie Lynn & Jennifer Cruz upset the wrestling world by winning this tournament? Anything can happen in WSU, as we’ve seen!

Also in non-tournament action, Mercedes Martinez puts up the WSU Championship in her first title defense against the sinister Jana. Jana has been on a major winning streak of late in WSU and was named a championship contender. The winner of this match will take on former champion Angel Orsini the next night on 4/11, as Angel Orsini has invoked her rematch clause for that date. Could Martinez be a fluke champion? If she’s thinking too far ahead, she might be, or perhaps Jana has chewed off more than she can chew. We’ll find out on 4/10!

——

WSU teams up with the leader of family wrestling entertainment NWS on 4/11 to present the 4th Annual King & Queen Tournament. WSU has announced the first round pairings for this monumental event!

FIRST ROUND PAIRINGS
TNA Superstar Jay Lethal & WSU Tag Champion Miss April vs “The Self-Proclaimed Legend Killer” Helter Skelter & Trixie Lynn
2007 K/Q Winner Danny Demanto & Jana vs Damian Adams & Jennifer Cruz
Bison Bravado & Former WSU Tag Champion Annie Social vs JD Smoothie & Former NWS Tag Champion Roxxie Cotton
NWS Champion Vicious Vinny & Brooke Carter vs Nicky Oceans & Autumn Breeze

This event will also feature the new WSU Champion Mercedes Martinez taking on former champion Angel Orsini w/Rain! Martinez defeated Orsini for the WSU Championship on 3/7 in a match that barred everyone from ringside. The last time Rain was in Orsini’s corner, Martinez ate a steel cage door to the face. Will Martinez’s reign be a short one?
*Note: If Jana wins the championship on 4/10, this match will be a triple threat match.

King & Queen of the Ring Tournament History
2006 winners: Julio Dinero & Kara Slice
2007 winners: Danny Demanto & Melissa Stripes
2008 winners: Rhett Titus & Nikki Roxx

The King & Queen of the Ring tournament officially became a co-branded WSU event in 2008, as the tournament has its roots with the NWS promotion. The tournament has spring-boarded previous winners to all types of success, as previous winner Kara Slice would eventually wind up in the WWE as “Cherri”. Danny Demanto’s 2007 win turned into an NWS Heavyweight Championship. And last year, the first year the tournament was presented with WSU, Nikki Roxx would not only win the tournament, but the WSU championship in the same night, as she defeated then-champion Tammy “Sunny” Sytch! This is one of the wildest tournaments all year! Be there live to experience what will be an unpredictable and wild event! The emotions and passion in WSU is running wild and this will be a monumental weekend for several stars in WSU.

BLOCKBUSTER NEWS LAST SUNDAY ON PWO TV; REBROADCAST THIS WEEK

Pro Wrestling Ohio TV on Sports Time Ohio delivered another blockbuster hour of action and excitement this past Sunday night. However, we at PWO understand that a large majority of you wrestling fans were caught up in the ?mania? surrounding certain other wrestling supercards that happened to take place that same day.

As a result, PWO will be airing a special rebroadcast of this past Sunday’s episode this upcoming Sunday at our usual time of 10:00 PM. To those that missed the broadcast, here’s some of the news you may not be cognizant of.

GARGANO RECLAIMS SPOT AS #1 CONTENDER!
Johnny Gargano outsmarted and outlasted PWO’s ?Most Dominant Athlete? Jason Bane and the ?Superstar? Mike Tolar in a three-way match to regain his guaranteed title shot at PWO Champion ?M-Dogg 20? Matt Cross. However, Gargano did not act alone. The emergence of Josh Prohibition provided a timely distraction for Bane, who immediately went after Prohibition, allowing Gargano to sneak in and get the pin, benefiting from Bane’s hard work. This marks the second time Prohibition has directly screwed Bane out of an opportunity to win the PWO Championship? What repercussions will Bane have for Prohibition and what will happen when Gargano meets Matt Cross for PWO’s top prize when PWO returns LIVE to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 6928 Detroit Rd. Cleveland, Ohio 44102?

HOBO JOE? WINS THE LOTTERY?
It seemed like another day of Hobo Joe being down on his luck, especially when Hobo was the victim of a sneak-attack by N8 Mattson & Benjamin Boone, in their attempts to send a message to Bobby Beverly that Bobby is in need of a change, and new choice of partners, in his life. As the ?Dumpster Dweller? recovered, he noticed a scratch-off lottery ticket laying near his trash cans? a lottery ticket that had been thrown away by a hopeless and desperate Aaron Maguire in HIS search for money to pay off his gambling debts to Marshall ?The Bull? Gambino. When Hobo scratched the ticket, he found he won $25,000! It was, however, much to the chagrin of Maguire, who once possessed the ticket, but in a moment of despair, threw it all away. How will this impact the lives of these two less than fortunate souls?

Those stories PLUS the unveiling of Dawn Decadence’s newest client, ?Bloody? Morty Rackem’s apology and subsequent dubious gift for partner Matthew Justice, and much, much more!

If you missed it the first time, or if you want to re-live all the madness, check out these events as they unfold this Sunday night at 10 on Sports Time Ohio on PWO TV!

Pro Wrestling Ohio is a regional independent professional wrestling organization headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. Since opening its doors in October 2007, PWO has been televised via the Sports Time Ohio network, official television home of the Cleveland Indians, available in over 4 million homes via basic cable and available nationwide via select sports packages on both DirecTV and Dish Network. PWO utilizes the most exciting and talented professional wrestlers in the region today, with names such as ?M-Dogg 20? Matt Cross, Josh Prohibition, Jason Bane, Johnny Gargano, and Mike Tolar. PWO also works closely with various causes, having helped raise funds & awareness for such groups as the Cops & Kids program, and the local National Guard and Family Readiness Group.
