The last woman remaining in the ring in this over the top rope/over the middle rope battle royal, after everyone has entered, will be named the number 1 contender to the WSU World Championship.

Also appearing (Matches with these wrestlers will be announced in the upcoming weeks): April Hunter, Amber, Lexxus, Marti Belle, Tina San Antonio, Jessicka Havok, Sassy Stephanie, Jana, Cindy Rogers, Alere Little Feather, Latasha, Rick Cataldo, Destiny, Niya, Divina Fly & Many More! You Never Know Who Will Show Up in WSU Next!

The WSU J-Cup tournament, the most prestigious womens wrestling tournament today, took place this past weekend. Everyone who has won the J-Cup tournament has also gone on to win the WSU World Championship. (Alexa Thatcher, Mercedes Martinez & Angel Orsini.) In an exhilirating finals, and in a first time ever match, Alicia defeated Angel Orsini to win the tournament. By virtue of this win, Alicia is guaranteed a WSU World title match, against whoever the champion may be on 6/26.
However, Alicia wasn’t done there, Alicia went on to win the King & Queen of the Ring tournament the next night, with partner Devon Moore. Alicia cemented her comeback as complete by sweeping both tournaments and winning 6 matches in one weekend.

When you talk WSU, there are three wrestlers that can be called “icons”. These three wrestlers put WSU on their back and carried WSU to a higher level during the reign as world champion.

In 2007, WSU was able to exist due to the hard work of Alicia. Alicia defeated stars such as Luna Vachon, Nikki Roxx & Amy Lee in a tournament to become the first ever WSU Champion. During her reign, Alicia would defend the championship all over the independent scene, making the WSU letters synonomous with womens wrestling in the northeast. It was due to her hard work that WSU exists to this day. However, Alicia would “retire”, or take a break from wrestling, as Alicia left WSU & the wrestling world on 12/22/07. Alicia would not return to action until June 6th, 2009.

During Alicia’s absence, the WSU Championship flip-flopped from Sunny to Nikki Roxx. However on 5/31/2008, a new star was born in WSU. Enter Angel Orsini. The former “Riptide” aka “Prodigette”, seemed to be winding her career down. Orsini was not happy with that. When Orsini won the championship, her career was re-born. Orsini took the ball and ran with the WSU Championship for 10 months and defended it over 15 times, a record at that point. Orsini eclipsed Alicia’s run as champion. As Orsini grew, so did WSU, as deals were brokered with more companies to have the WSU Championship defended and business thrived.

One of the reasons WSU grew under Orsini was because of her feud with Mercedes Martinez. On 3/7/09, history was made, when Mercedes Martinez defeated Angel Orsini in a Bullrope Match, where ironically, Alicia was special guest referee at the WSU 2 Year Anniversary Show. From that date on, no one has been able to defeat Martinez in singles action.

WSU has grown and has become the number 1 womens wrestling company in the country today, providing more live events and stars than any other womens wrestling company. Under Martinez, many “firsts” occured and womens wrestling history was made. On 6/6/09, Martinez would defeat Angel Orsini in a 70 minute IronWoman match, the longest ever match in womens wrestling history. On 8/1/09, Martinez would defend the championship in Australia, making the WSU Championship a World Championship. Martinez has also had the busiest schedule as WSU Champion, defending the championship sometimes 4 times a month, more than any other womens wrestling champion today. It is one thing to have a championship and defend it every 7 months, it is another thing to have a championship and defend it every 7 days. At this point in time, Martinez has defended the WSU World Championship more than any other womens wrestling champion has defended their championship, including the WWE & TNA women champions.

Martinez has had an impressive body of work, defending the WSU World Championship on 22 seperate occasions against the likes of Awesome Kong, Amber O’Neal, Nikki Roxx, Rain, Angel Orsini, Portia Perez, Hailey Hatred, Jessicka Havok, Jana, Sumie Sakai, Melissa Coates & many more. Martinez has been sought out by many independent promoters while WSU champion. Just like how Orsini was able to eclipse Alicia’s reign as champion, Martinez has been able to eclipse Orsini’s reign, as Martinez is the longest reigning & defending champion in WSU history.

However, there is one person Martinez has never defeated or faced in WSU and that is the former 2-time WSU Champion Alicia. Before there was Martinez, WSU was Alicia country. In fact you’d have to wonder how Alicia would’ve fared if she faced Martinez during her initial run in WSU.

When Alicia first came back to WSU, she made it clear that she did not want to be put in World Championship matches. Alicia told WSU management that she wanted to earn her way back to the top. Alicia understood that WSU had grown during her sabbatical. Secretly, Alicia wondered to herself if she could keep up with the current crop of WSU stars. They style & the game had changed in WSU. Would WSU’s original queen be able to regain her throne?

In the last year, Alicia has gone on to become the first ever WSU Triple Crown Champion, as she added the WSU Tag Team Championships & Spirit Championships to her resume. On 4/2 & 4/3 respectively, Alicia won the J-Cup & King/Queen Tournaments. Alicia has won everything there is to win since her comeback, except one thing – the ultimate prize and the most important thing in womens wrestling today – the WSU World Womens Championshhip.

As stated earlier, Martinez has defeated everyone in her path. On the same weekend Alicia won two tournaments (and 6 matches), Martinez snapped two undefeated streaks in WSU by defeating the previously undefeated Amber O’Neal and the previously undefeated Melissa Coates. Both Martinez & Alicia are moving at 100 miles per hour and these two will collide full steam on 6/26.

This is a showdown that has been brewing ever since Alicia returned a year ago. Alicia has won everything there is to win in WSU since returning, while Mercedes has dominated everything and everyone in her path. Alicia is ready to return to the top of the WSU world and become a 3-Time WSU World Champion. Mercedes Martinez is ready for the biggest challenge of her career. Despite everything Martinez has done in WSU, the one thing Martinez can’t say is that she defeated the person who put WSU on the map – Alicia. Alicia looks to become the WSU Queenpin one more time, but to do it, she will have to win the most difficult match of her career. For both of these icons of WSU, this is the most difficult and most unpredictable match of their career. This is a match that will define WSU. This is the biggest WSU World Title Match ever between two of WSU’s biggest stars. WSU will either move in a new direction under World Champion Alicia or Mercedes Martinez will continue to prove why she’s the best in the world today. THIS IS NOT A MATCH YOU WANT TO MISS.

As previously announced, WSU has signed a TV deal with the FIGHT Network in Canada through InASecTV.com. As terms of this TV deal, WSU will get 15 minutes on FIGHT Network’s wrestling hour. In addition, WSU “Uncensored” will be available for free online for fans across the world.

NWS/WSU “2010 Jersey J-Cup Women’s Tournament” Results From Neptune, NJ 4/2: Alicia Emerges As The Winner And New #1 Contender, WSU World Champion Mercedes Martinez Defends Her Title Against Amber O’Neal, Former ECW Hardcore Icon Balls Mahoney & Mikey Pacifica Tangle With The Commandos, An Appearance By WWE Hall Of Famer The Iron Sheik & More
National Wrestling Superstars teamed up with its sister all-ladies promotion Women Superstars Uncensored on Friday night April 2nd for the first of two big shows this weekend, the 2010 Jersey J-Cup Women’s Tournament, which returned to its original home at Neptune, NJ’s Shark River Hills Firehouse Hall. A good crowd on a Good Friday filled the hall to watch eight of the top lady wrestlers in the Northeast, including a few former TV superstars, battle it out for the coveted trophy.

The show opened with NWS ring announcer Johnny Falco and WSU ring announcer Destiny introducing all eight participants. Former TNA star Nikki Roxx tried to take the trophy home right away, claiming she was just saving time on her inevitable win, but former ECW Women’s Champion Angel Orsini got in her face and the two almost had their match right away before they were separated by officials.

In the First Round Matches:

Alicia defeated Tina SanAntonio. Tina fought courageously but the newcomer was no match for the veteran Alicia, and soon fell victim to an Alicia-Bomb and was pinned.

WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage (with manager “The Diva” Rick Cataldo) defeated Marti Belle. Brittney claimed her original opponent Divina Fly didn’t show up because Brittney had sent her to the hospital after their last match. Belle put up a good fight, but with Cataldo’s interference, Brittney managed to put down Belle with an RKO for the 1-2-3.

Former WWE Women’s Champion Jazz defeated Jana. The double-tough Jana met her match in the super-tough Jazz, and after a hard-hitting brawl, Jazz put Jana away with a Michinoku Driver for the 1-2-3.

Former ECW Women’s Champion Angel Orsini defeated former TNA star Nikki Roxx. This was the most evenly-matched and competitive first-round match, as both veteran stars gave it their all. Nikki tried to work over Angel’s arm for several minutes, but the former WSU Champion held on in her quest for a shot to regain the gold, and eventually put Nikki down with her “Kiss Of Death” Flatliner for the pin.

Before the next match, The Commandos (“The Cold-Hearted Playa” Danny Demanto & “Too Cocky” Kevin Matthews) came out, with their manager Brittney Savage. After insulting the Neptune fans, they turned their attention (and insults) towards former WWE World Heavyweight Champion and Hall of Famer The Iron Sheik, who was in the building signing autographs. They then called out Mikey Pacifica, who would be facing them later that night, and asked him point-blank who had the balls to be his partner against The Commandos. Appropriately enough, the answer came in the form of former ECW hardcore icon John “Balls” Mahoney, who came to the ring armed with a chair. Balls asked Commissioner Moore that since The Commandos had a manager, they wanted one too, and pointed to The Iron Sheik, who gladly accepted.

In the Semifinal Matches:

Alicia defeated WSU Champion Brittney Savage (with manager “The Diva” Rick Cataldo). The title wasn’t on the line, but Alicia was still out for a measure of revenge. It was an uphill fight, though, as Cataldo provided plenty of interference from the outside, even pulling the referee out of the ring after Brittney was caught by an Alicia-Bomb. But Alicia hung on, and after hitting Brittney with a running knee-lift in the corner was able to pin her 1-2-3 to advance to the finals.

Former ECW Women’s Champion Angel Orsini defeated former WWE Women’s Champion Jazz. These two combat veterans exchanged holds and brawls for several minutes, and it looked like it could go either way, until Angel caught Jazz with a “Kiss Of Death” Flatliner for the pin.

WSU World Champion Mercedes Martinez retained her title against Amber O’Neal. Undefeated at 6-0, Amber came into the match cocky and confident, but soon realized she had bitten off more than she could chew, as the champion pulled out all the stops. A missed superkick by Mercedes accidentally took out referee Kenny Edwards, and Amber hit Mercedes with the title belt, but no referee to see the cheating also meant no referee to count the pin either. By the time the referee awoke, Mercedes had recovered, and planted Amber into the mat with a Fisherman’s Suplex to get the pin and retain her title, and end Amber’s undefeated streak in WSU.

The Commandos (“The Cold-Hearted Playa” Danny Demanto & “Too Cocky” Kevin Matthews, with manager Brittney Savage) defeated former ECW hardcore icon Balls Mahoney & Mighty Mikey Pacifica (with manager The Iron Sheik). Before the match started, Demanto revealed he had an ace in the hole, and pointed out the fine print in the contract for the match where The Commandos get to choose the referee, and called out “Mr. Entertainment” J.D. Smoothie. Commissioner Moore conceded that this was in the contract and there was nothing he could do. Balls and Pacifica refused to be intimidated, and took the fight to The Commandos. Demanto locked Pacifica in a Camel Clutch and teased The Iron Sheik at ringside, but The Sheik clocked Demanto with his cane to break the hold. After Balls was tagged in and cleaned house, a miscue by Brittney almost cost The Commandos the match, and an angry Demanto shocked the crowd by striking Brittney and leaving her laying on the floor at ringside. Balls Mahoney, a true gentleman at heart despite his hardcore image, went to help Brittney, which left Mikey in the ring to be double-teamed by Demanto and Matthews, and eventually pinned after an extremely fast 1-2-3 count by Smoothie.

As The Commandos were leaving the ring, they began to threaten a long-time fan sitting at ringside, but were stopped by NWS newcomers Pat Buck and Jay Silva, The Lone Rangers, who were also sitting at ringside. A brawl broke out between the two teams, and Commissioner Moore announced that the two would meet at NWS’ show in Basking Ridge, NJ in June, and warned them they would be fired if they went after each other before then.

In the Final Match, Alicia defeated former ECW Women’s Champion Angel Orsini to win the 2010 Jersey J-Cup Women’s Tournament Trophy. The two veterans and former WSU World Champions fought hard inside and outside the ring, neither giving any quarter in their quest to earn the next title shot. After finally getting back into the ring, Alicia fought her way out of Angel’s attempt at a “Kiss Of Death”, and planted her with a pair of Alicia-Bombs to get the three-count and victory.

The entire WSU locker room came out congratulate Alicia as she stood triumphantly with the trophy, except Angel who ducked out of the ring with a bitter expression on her face, as she had lost the only chance she had of getting a title shot. Then WSU World Champion Mercecedes Martinez came out and congratulated Alicia on her return to the number-one contender’s spot, and promised they would have the fight of their lives at Uncensored Rumble in June.

NWS and WSU continue their double-shot double-promotion weekend on Saturday April 3rd with the “2010 King And Queen Of The Ring Tournament” in Kearny, NJ.

NWS/WSU “2010 King And Queen Of The Ring Tournament” Results From Kearny, NJ 4/3: Last-Minute Replacement Out Of Left Field Stuns Wrestling World With Tournament Win, Title Defenses From WSU World Champion Mercedes Martinez & WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage And More
He was called up the morning of the show to replace a pummeled and broken Mikey Pacifica, who was literally annhilated by Danny Demanto and Kevin Matthews the night before in his match with Balls Mahoney against The Commandos. Pacifica himself was scheduled to replace the once-again-retired Vicious Vinny in the tournament, and this final roster change to replace him brought in Philadelphia’s own Devon Moore, an accomplished Northeast wrestling star in his own right who, with a partner with more victories in WSU than anyone else in the tournament, and the winner of the 2010 J-Cup Women’s Tournament the previous night, Alicia, ended up as the 2010 King And Queen Of The Ring Tournament winners on Saturday night April 3rd, as National Wrestling Superstars and sister promotion Women Superstars Uncensored concluded their two-promotion two-show weekend with this annual classic, which drew an enthusiastic and energetic throng of fans to Kearny, NJ’s Presbyterian Boys & Girls Club.

The show opened with NWS ring announcer Johnny Falco & WSU ring announcer Destiny introducing the field of eight inter-gender tag-teams and explaining the rules of the tournament. Devon Moore was introduced as a replacement for Mikey Pacifica, who was injured at the hands of Danny Demanto and Kevin Matthews the previous night in Neptune. Devon’s partner Alicia was originally scheduled to team with Demanto, but after witnessing what he did to Pacifica, she exercised her right to choose a new partner. A furious Demanto lamented on being “stuck with” WSU newcomer Marti Belle, and confronted Alicia, who promptly slapped Demanto. Devon Moore came to her aid, and NWS Commissioner Gino Moore ordered that the first-round match between the two teams begin immediately.

In the First Round Matches:

Devon Moore & Alicia defeated “The Cold-Hearted Playa” Danny Demanto & Marti Belle. Despite Danny’s power and Marti’s rookie enthusiasm, Devon and Alicia prevailed, with an Alicia-Bomb on Marti sealing the deal. Demanto took out his frustrations on Marti, who slapped him as well. (Demanto seems to have issues with his women wrestler partners all weekend!)

Former WWE developmental protege “Too Cocky” Kevin Matthews & former TNA star Nikki Roxx defeated J.D. Smoothie & former ECW Women’s Champion Angel Orsini. Angel and Nikki continued their rivalry from the previous night, and Angel had Nikki ripe for a pin after planting her into the mat with her “Kiss Of Death” Flatliner, but Matthews threw Smoothie out of the ring, and while the referee was checking on him, Matthews powerbombed Angel and placed Nikki on top of her in time for the referee to turn around and count 1-2-3.

“The Love Machine” Nicky Oceans & Jana defeated Junping Joey Janella & Niya by submission. The WSU rookie Niya made a good accounting of herself, and after a back-cracker by Janella on Oceans was poised to take out Oceans from the top rope, but Jana knocked her off, then after an Attitude Adjuster by Oceans on Janella, Jana locked Janella in the JanaVice, and the referee called for the bell.

Former ECW stars Balls Mahoney & Jazz defeated Bison Bravado & Amber O’Neal. Bison’s power frustrated Balls early, but the experience factor won in the end, and twin powerslams off the top rope by both Balls and Jazz sealed the victory.

WSU World Champion “The Latina Sensation” Mercedes Martinez came to the ring, and said that even though she was not contractually obligated to appear on tonight’s show, she was a fighting champion, and issued an open challenge to any WSU competitor in the locker room. This brought out none other than Melissa Coates, who flashed her ample muscles and promised to out-muscle Mercedes for the title.

WSU World Champion “The Latina Sensation” Mercedes Martinez retained her title by submission over Melissa Coates. Melissa’s power advantage indeed frustrated Mercedes early on, and she even powered out of Mercedes’ attempt to put her in a Fisherman’s Suplex, but then Mercedes reversed a powerslam attempt into a Rear Naked Choke, and Melissa eventually tapped out.

In the Semifinal Matches:

Devon Moore & Alicia defeated “The Love Machine” Nicky Oceans & Jana. Once again there was no stopping Devon and Alicia. Oceans broke up Alicia’s first Alicia-Bomb pin attempt on Jana, but Devon clotheslined Oceans out of the ring and Alicia hit a second on Jana for the pin.

Former WWE developmental protege “Too Cocky” Kevin Matthews & former TNA star Nikki Roxx defeated former ECW stars Balls Mahoney & Jazz. After an Underhook Back Suplex by Balls on Matthews, he and Jazz seemed poised to go to the Finals, but out came Bison Bravado and Amber, still smarting from their loss to Balls and Jazz in the first round. While Balls and Bison exchanged words on the outside, Amber snuck into the ring and DDT’ed Jazz. Nikki took advantage and covered Jazz for the 1-2-3. An enraged Balls picked up a chair and swung it in every direction in frustration.

WSU Spirit Champion (with manager “The Diva” Rick Cataldo) retained her title against challenger Tina SanAntonio. The rookie Tina made a good accounting of herself, but Brittney had the extra advantage of Cataldo on the outside, who pulled the referee out of the ring after a bulldog and pin attempt by Tina. Brittney eventually RKO’d Tina into the mat for the victory. In the Tournament Finals, Devon Moore & Alicia defeated former WWE developmental protege “Too Cocky” Kevin Matthews & former TNA star Nikki Roxx to become the 2010 King And Queen Of The Ring. The fight began almost immediatey, with both teams, exhausted after two grueling matches each, were determined to put away their opponents quickly. After both Matthews and Nikki worked over Alicia for several minutes, Matthews missed a splash attempt and Alicia tagged in Devon who pummeled Matthews. Matthews tumbled to the outside and Devon took him out with a flying spalsh, leaving Nikki in the ring to receive an Alicia-Bomb and get pinned 1-2-3.

As Devon and Alicia were handed the crowns and celebrated with the fans, WSU World Champion Mercedes Martinez came out and congratulated Alicia on winning a second tournament this weekend, and once again told her she was looking forward to their match at WSU Uncensored Rumble in June.
