5/1- Stand by Your Man: The Tag Team Title Tournament
They were requested and now they have arrived, the CWE tag team titles! On May 21st Winnipeg, Manitoba kicks off the No Limits Tour with the crowning of the first ever CWE tag team champions. CWE has been a hotbed for not only the top tag teams in Central Canada but across the globe with countless memorable tag team matches taking place in side a CWE ring. On Friday May 21st history will be made when for the first time Canadian Wrestling’s Elite will recognize the top tag team in the division.
8 teams will be selected to compete in a traditional tournament format to decide the first two men to wear tag team gold around their waist. The first team selected is,
Former TNA X-Division champion & WWE star Shawn Daivari & “Shiek” Arya Daivari
– When selecting the 8 teams who would compete for the gold CWE wanted to select not only the best in CWE but the best in all of professional wrestling and that’s exactly how you can describe the brother tag team of Shawn & Arya Daivari. It was only a matter of time that a man who was a member of World’s Elite in TNA came to Canadian Wrestling’s Elite to compete against the best CWE has to offer. Shawn Daivari can easily be described as one of the most hated men in professional wrestling in recent years during his stay in WWE and during his title reign as TNA X division champion. Shawn brings his resume and reputation to Stand By Your Man for the first time in CWE with a man CWE fans have become familiar with in, his younger brother Arya. Arya has been a breakout star in CWE competing in many big time matches. For the first time in CWE the Daivari brothers compete together in what very well can result in them being crowned the first ever CWE tag team champions!
Also scheduled to compete on May 21st, “Bad Ass” Billy Gunn, WWF Legend Bushwhacker Luke, ROH superstar Jimmy Jacobs the returning Mentallo, “Hotshot” Danny Duggan, “Prime Cut” Jon Cutler, “The Brickhouse” Paul Arcidi, CWE champion AJ Sanchez and all the stars of CWE. Power Trip Wrestling announce fundraising show “For Emily”, Saturday 22nd May 2010, Luton, Beds.
BREAKING NEWS : “Under the Lamp”, the only UK chat show for the Deaf Community, will be in attendance to film an interview and exclusive footage with Power Trip Wrestling’s very own Tracey Kilby! “Under the Lamp” is shown on Sky Digital’s “The Community Channel”, and has now announced a new presenter, Julian Peedle-Calloo, who will travel the country meeting extraordinary people from Deaf communities all around Britain. All at PTW are very proud to welcome him, and the show; into the PTW Family for what will be a very special night, ‘For Emily’!
Whilst professional wrestling is supposed to be a tough business, Power Trip Wrestling are well known for having a kind heart. Back in October 2008, we raised £350 towards the healthcare of Emily Gaye, a young girl with cerebral palsy, via a collection. But his time, we’re dedicating the whole show to this special little lady, giving her father Neil the entire proceeds; and we’re going to give you, the fan, the best show that Luton has seen in many years.
Are you fed up with poor imitations of PTW in the local area who promote shows with the same people, the same matches, and unsuitable content for family viewing? Well, there’s none of that from us, because we’re going to show you why Power Trip Wrestling truly justify both of our catchphrases; of being both ‘The Best Family Night Out In Town, and also ‘The Promotion The Competition Doesn’t Want You To See’!
We’re bringing the big boys to town, with International Star Jonny ‘Wonderkid’ Storm making his very long awaited PTW return, PTW World Champion Conor Hurley putting his career on the line, the PTW Debut of a huge rising star on the UK Wrestling scene – ‘MVK’ Val Kabious, the PTW World Tag Team Titles and the PTW Cruiserweight Title are going to be on the line, and in a real shocker of a twist of events – PTW’s always controversial and Luton’s very own ‘The Loudest Player In The Game’ Petey Staniforth, who is also known for his column in Luton Town FC’s “Half Time Orange” fanzine; has made an open challenge to anyone, from anywhere, to fight him!
