Summer Showdown 2010

UPWA celebrates its 5th Anniversary with all titles being defended

The hottest wrestling promotion in the southeast returns to the National Guard Armory in Wilmington, NC when UPWA presents Summer Showdown 2010 on July 10th.

When we started in 2005, people gave us little chance of succeeding more than a few months. Now on our 5th year anniversary show, the fastest growing wrestling promotion in the southeast, UPWA looks to continue its rise to the top of Professional Wrestling in the south with an action packed card.

Cruiserweight Champion The Amazing Velvet will defend his title against long time foe Christopher Shane with an added twist. The challenger has stated that if he cannot pry the title away from Velvet, he will retire from pro wrestling.

UPWA Women’s Champion Mia Svensson will defend her title against Nicole Poliki. After losing in a non-title match, the champion has vowed to teach Poliki a lesson while the challenger has said she will win the gold from the cocky champion.

B.D. Productions will defend the Tag Team Title against the father and son team of The Beast and John Beasley. This match is the direct result of Wrestlefest 2010 on June 12th when the challengers were forced to wrestle in a Lumberjack Match. The Brower Empire were the lumberjacks and during the match, attacked the pair. They viciously attacked the pair, forcing Beast to go to the hospital for an apparent concussion. The Beasley’s petitioned the championship committee for a title and it was granted under Wilmington Street Fight Rules.

The non-stop action is headlined by a huge Main Event as two champions will collide when World Champion LA Tank will face Carolinas Champion Djinn in a Title vs Title match. After the chaos that ended last show with both men repeatedly attacking the other and the locker room emptying to separate the men, this is a match not to be missed.

Also appearing: Smooth Excellence, The Young Lions, Ty Tyson, Tommy Daniels, the UPWA debut of “The Stic” Eddie Brown as well as the other superstars of the UPWA! Tickets for this event are available at www.theupwa.com or at the door. Do not miss this exciting night of professional wrestling action as history will be made.

Hey dude, just passing this along, cause I want indy wrestling to pick up, generate interest I guess. Daniel Bryan Danielson is booked, aside from ROH Sept 10 in MA, for Melrose, MA Sept 18. The show is huge, including Danielson, Homicide, Cena’s Daddy (Legit Cena Sr.), Boogeyman, the ORIGINAL Doink Matt Bourne, and the one and only, Shieky Baby Himself, Iron Shiek. Q&A for VIP’s, Autographs for anyone paying, And stories you can’t make up. A night you shouldn’t miss!

MWFprowrestling.com/Bostonwrestling.com… A post would be much appreciated, it’s for the buisiness. Rumor has it, Danielson’s opponent may be New England stand-out ‘Hurricaine’ John Walters.

Breaking news from the ICW front office concerning this Sunday\’s Headlock on Hunger event in Elkhart, Indiana…ICW has decided to make a change to the tournament and add a unique twist on things. ICW has entered the current champion, Sgt. Peterson, into the tournament. This means that if the Sarge fails to reach the finals, regardless of pinfall, DQ, submission or countout, he loses the title and a new champion will be crowned in the finals! This is sure to sweeten things up for the competition as he faces a familiar foe in \”Wolfman\” Billy Bragg in the opening round. You do not want to miss this event! Location is at Texas Roadhouse, 3015 Brittany Ct. Elkhart, IN 46514. Admission is free and bell time is set for 6:00 PM ET. Come early and enjoy kids games, food, live music, and tug-o-war competition, which all begin at 12:00 PM ET. Donations go toward the support of Church Community Services food bank.
