About FCW Wrestling

For nearly half a century, Florida Championship Wrestling has been the Sunshine State’s primary wrestling promotion providing a home for such wrestling legends as “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, The Brisco Brothers and Gordon Solie. Officially sanctioned and reorganized by the WWE during the summer of 2007, FCW has also become the training ground for future WWE Superstars. According to the promotion’s written objective, it seeks to give fans a glimpse at the potential Superstars of tomorrow while providing exciting ring action that leaves the entire family with smiles on their faces. To date, over fifty men and women have gone on to WWE’s Raw, Smackdown or NXT Television brands. “It might sound corny but when you see so many stars leave FCW and move up to one of the WWE brands, it’s a proud feeling. It’s like watching your kids graduate and you want them to go on to reach their maximum potential” said Keirn. Names that have come from FCW include Sheamus, The Nexus, Smackdown Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston, Ted DiBiase, The Usos, Primo Colon, Ezekiel Jackson, The Bella Twins, Evan Bourne, Alicia Fox, Trent Berretta, Yoshi-Tatsu and many more. The company holds weekly shows at their home location dubbed the “FCW Arena” in Tampa, FL every Thursday night along with tapings for their weekly television show. Their Television show can be seen every week on Brighthouse Cable Channel 47 every Sunday at 6pm. Nearly every weekend, the group travels to such cities as Brandon providing live events for fans who can’t make it to the arena on Thursday nights. “It’s all about getting exposure for Florida Championship Wrestling and the men and women who work under its banner. My goal is to give fans all across the state of Florida the chance to see firsthand, the future of the WWE and be a part of history in the process.”

ABOUT JERRY LAWLER

Decorating himself in royal blue and gold attire accompanied by his famous crown, Jerry “The King” Lawler is one of the most accomplished color commentators and Superstars in wrestling history.

A 2007 WWE Hall of Fame Inductee, Lawler is a favorite among WWE fans for his historic career and weekly contributions on Monday Night Raw with broadcast partners Jim Ross and, following the 2008 WWE Draft, Michael Cole.

A self-proclaimed king, this excitable and outspoken Raw color commentator from Memphis, Tenn., has been dishing it out with the microphone and in the ring dating back 30 years. He got his original break back home in the Memphis wrestling circuit. It’s his gift of gab and southern pride that have on occasion led to “The King” lacing up the boots and getting in the ring again.

While “The King” has scored victories over legends such as Terry Funk and Hulk Hogan during his career, he is perhaps best known for his rivalry with entertainer Andy Kaufman. This led to a role alongside Jim Carrey in the hit film, Man in the Moon. The Lawler-Kaufman battles raged not only in the ring, but on television as well. Lawler’s incident on Late Night with David Letterman where he slapped Kaufman is considered one of the most memorable moments in that show’s history.

Lawler brings a unique brand of commentary to Raw that draws millions of followers around the world each week. “The King” has become so popular that he even wrote an autobiography. It’s Good to be the King … Sometimes, was released in late 2002 to critical acclaim and is still one of the best sellers in the WWE autobiography series.
