EAST COAST WRESTLING ASSOCIATION, Vorhees, New Jersey–“The New Horror” is coming to the ECWA Super 8 in Vorhees, NJ. The question is … will the fans AND SAMI CALLIHAN’S POTENTIAL OPPONENTS ever be prepared? This week on wrestling journalist Brady Hicks’ weekly IN THE ROOM podcast, Sami Callihan threw his name in the hat as the SECOND competitor to compete at Super 8, joining Tommaso Ciampa in one of the most prestigious indie wrestling tournaments in the world today.

A wrestler for about five years, Callihan has fought against … and devastated … some of the top talent in companies such as CZW, ROH, EVOLVE, DG-USA, and JAPW, garnering a reputation among his peers as one of the toughest, most brutalizing wrestlers in the world today. According to his peers and a number of wrestling experts, the man’s presence in this tournament automatically makes him a heavy favorite. “This will be a different kind of opportunity for me,” observed an unusually calm Callihan, prior to recording this week’s episode of IN THE ROOM for thebradyhicks.com. “Not only is it my first time stepping into an ECWA ring, but I hope it will also be my first time wrestling several of the other guys in this tournament.” With a smile, he added, “I just hope they’re ready for the horror that will ensue.”

As Callihan alluded, little is actually known about who will be joining him and two-time runner up Tommaso Ciampa in the 2011 Super 8 tournament. As was announced last week on IN THE ROOM, this year’s Super 8 tournament will take place at the Flyers’ Skate Zone in Vorhees, NJ, a move ECWA owner Mike Tartaglia hopes will make it more accessible to ADDITIONAL ECWA fans in New England, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, while still being being close to Delaware. Either way, it will make this year’s Super 8 tournament more centrally located than ever before.

Tune in each week to the IN THE ROOM podcast on thebradyhicks.com, as a new member of the 2011 Super 8 class is announced. IWF Premier Pro sent this in:

As we continue in a new decade, the sport of professional wrestling sits at a crossroads. Mainstream “sports entertainment” has transformed this art form into a global phenomenon, carving a niche for itself as a glorified soap opera that caters to a young, impressionable audience while simultaneously alienating the very fan base that molded its foundation. Attached to the success achieved by this monopolizing juggernaut is a stigma that has left diehard fans afraid to embrace the business they love… Until NOW… Amidst the virtual genocide of true professional wrestling, the presence of independent thinking has survived.
On Sunday, February 13th, 2011, IWF Premier Pro Wrestling celebrates this near forgotten tradition with the 2nd Annual A3 Championship Tournament LIVE from the Buffalo Rose in historic Golden, Colorado! 12 of the Rocky Mountain region’s top athletes vie to become the next holder of the A3 Cup, a concept designed to spotlight up and coming wrestlers from one of the hottest territories in the United States. Short for “Amplified, Altitude, Aggression”, the A3 title opportunity has attracted an elite roster of competitors from Colorado and its surrounding states that promise to deliver one of the greatest nights of pure wrestling this region has witnessed with no other titles on the line.

The 12 competitors have been selected, and randomly seeded in 6 first round matches. The brackets are as follows;

Chris Wrath – Dallas, TX vs. Tragan Ender – Fighting Out Of Limbo
Kyle Hawk – The Reservation, NM vs. The Miracle That Is Tony – Huntington Beach, CA
El Pansaco – Mexico City, Mexico vs. Prodigee – Mile High City
The Superstar – Paradise City, AZ vs. Golden Starr – Denver, CO
Patrick McDaniels – Georgia vs. Rob Ryzin – Denver, CO
Brandon Morris – Olympia, WA vs. Jason Noel – CO Springs, CO

The winners of all 6 first round matches will then be thrown into a hat and drawn randomly to form 3 second round matches. The victors of those matches will then meet in a 3-Way Dance to crown the new A3 Cup Champion.

Presale tickets to this historic event are available at the very low price of just $5.00 for kids 7-13 and $10.00 for adults at www. iwpromotions. com, and will also be available the day of the show at the venue for $7.00 kids and $12.00 adults. The Buffalo Rose is located at 1119 Washington Avenue in Golden, Colorado Showtime is 6:00 PM MST, with the doors opening at 5:00 PM. All seating is general admission so arrive early for the best possible seat. In addition to the fast paced, high flying style of the participants, there will also be some of our IWF Premier super stars taking turns as special guest commentators for the evening and the bar will be serving reasonably priced spirits to those over the age of 21 and food all night long. This is a night that no true wrestling fan in the rockies will want to miss, so get your tickets early and help us make history yet again on the 13th!
