When WSU returns on 4/2 to team up with our partners NWS, we will present our two annual tournaments, the Women’s J-Cup & The King & Queen of the Ring. Both tournaments are prestigious and very important for the athletes that compete in them. As tradition goes, the winner of the J-Cup is guaranteed a WSU World Title shot at The Uncensored Rumble event. Previous winners of the J-Cup include all former WSU World Champions, such as Alexa Thatcher, Mercedes Martinez, Angel Orsini & Alicia. With every previous J-Cup winner holding the WSU World Title, the stakes are that much higher.

To guarantee to make things interesting, the J-Cup roster this year features people who have never held the WSU World Title. Whoever wins the J-Cup finals this year, will have won the biggest match in their career. One person will walk out of this tournament and get the chance to main event the Uncensored Rumble against whoever the WSU World Champion may be. The future of WSU could very well become apparent in this tournament.

Here are the brackets for this tournament, where the winner will become the NEW NUMBER 1 Contender to the WSU World Championship

Brittney Savage vs Cindy Rogers
Sassy Stephanie vs Jennifer Cruz
Tina San Antonio vs Jamilia Craft
Marti Belle vs Jana

One of these 8 women will get the biggest opportunity in their careers.

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!

The WSU World Champion Mercedes Martinez, who has now entered year 3 as WSU World Champion will make her first defense since defeating Serena at the Four Year Anniversary iPPV. Mercedes Martinez will be challenged by the returning ARIEL.

The WSU Championship committee has ruled that Ariel is deserving of a WSU World Title Shot, based on a match on 8/22/09. Ariel won a match to become number 1 contender to the Spirit Championship. However, Ariel was unable to return to WSU to cash in that opportunity. WSU has ruled in the favor of “interest” and has turned Ariel’s Spirit Championship shot into a shot at the WSU World Championship, the biggest prize in womens wrestling today.

However, that’s not all.

In perhaps in what will be the most heated and brutal match of the day, JESSICKA HAVOK takes on ALICIA! This match has been booked as a direct result of Jessicka Havok’s attack on Alicia at the 4YAS. Both Alicia & Jessicka want to tear into each other. Alicia wants revenge on Jessicka for costing her the WSU Championship while Havok wants to prove to the world that she belongs on top of WSU. This match will be an all out war.

This event will be taped for DVD release.

In the nightcap, WSU & NWS will present the King & Queen of the Ring Tournament. Each year, NWS & WSU team up to present this special mixed tag team wrestling tournament. Winners of the tournament always receive a WSU World Title shot during the calendar year.

The brackets have been released. In a twist, the WSU World Champion will be competing in this tournament, as both WSU World Champion Mercedes Martinez & Ariel, who is challenging Martinez at the J-Cup will participate in the tournament! Whoever is the WSU World Champion will get a chance to shoot down a future challenge by winning this tournament, while the other 7 women will make a target out of the champion.

The brackets have been released, here they are:

Mercedes Martinez & Bison Bravado vs Julio Dinero & Cindy Rogers
Alicia & Kenny Dykstra vs Jana & Nicky Oceans
Frightmare & Jamilia Craft vs Sassy Stephanie & JD Smoothie
Jessicka Havok & Corey Havok vs Spyral/Ariel

Many interesting scenarios can come out of this tournament. The WSU World & WSU Spirit Champions will be participating. More interesting is that Jessicka Havok may finally get her first taste of Mercedes Martinez since becoming a full-time singles wrestler.

Two other matches have been announced

GRUDGE MATCH
Brittney Savage vs Rick Cataldo
On 3/5, Brittney Savage denounced the Cosmo Club and said it was no more. Savage then laid out Cataldo with a diamond cutter, but made it clear she did that for herself and not the fans. Cataldo has been fuming ever since Savage turned her back on him and has demanded a match. However, Savage was originally booked for the King & Queen tournament. Savage told WSU she would rather destroy Rick, the heart of the Cosmo Club, once and for all. These two allies for the last 18 months will wage war on each other. The Cosmo Club may be over, and so could one of these two’s careers.

WSU Tag Team Title Match
(c) The Belle Saints (Tina & Marti) vs Rick Cataldo & Jennifer Cruz
That’s right, the Belle Saints will be defending the WSU Tag Team Championships! Check out the NOTES Section below!

All this and much more will take place on 4/2!
—–

NOTES:
– The WSU Championship Committee has made a decision regarding the WSU tag team championships. At the request of Marti Belle, Tina San Antonio & Jazz, the WSU Tag Team Titles will be defended under “Freebird” rules, meaning that any two of the Belle Saints and Jazz can defend the tag team titles. For the sake of history, Marti Belle & Jazz are the officially recognized tag team champions. However, due to Tina’s injury that left her out of the 4YA and due to Jazz’s win, WSU has ruled in the interest of fairness to all three parties to allow the belts to be defended by any duo of these three wrestlers. The first defense of the WSU Tag Team titles under these rules comes on 4/2 at the King & Queen tournament when the Belle Saints defend against the newly formed duo of Rick Cataldo & Jennifer Cruz. While WSU has agreed to the “Freebird” rule, WSU is cautious of what will happen if and when the tag titles are lost…and how the third woman out will react.

– WSU has ruled that Alicia has officially cashed in her open contract when she challenged Mercedes Martinez on 3/5. WSU empathizes with Alicia, as Alicia was robbed of her chance of becoming WSU World Champion when Jessicka Havok interfered. While the winner of the J-Cup tournament will become the new number 1 contender to the WSU World Championship, and challenge for that championship at the Uncensored Rumble, the winner of Alicia & Havok will be in serious contention for a WSU World Title shot.

– WSU congratulates WSU World Champion Mercedes Martinez on surpassing the two year mark as WSU World Champion. Martinez remains the most active womens champion in wrestling today, and the longest reigning champion. Martinez has made more defenses of her championship than any other womens wrestler today and has done so against top notch competition. It is a rarity for champions to hold on to their gold for such an impressive amount of time and WSU congratulates Martinez on her accomplishment.

– The Boston Shore, Amber & Lexxus, were named the number 1 contenders to the WSU Tag Team Titles and will challenge whoever are the WSU Tag Team Champions at the Uncensored Rumble in June. The Shore are undefeated and have previously defeated the current WSU Tag Champions, The Belle Saints. Will Jazz be the x-factor in that future match?

– WSU’s next iPPV, The 4th Annual Uncensored Rumble will take place on June 25, live on iPPV from Union City, NJ. More details on that event once the tournament weekend is over.

Please consult your local listings for additional added airtimes throughout the week!

Scheduled for this week’s broadcast…

Live In-Ring Action Returns
After several weeks of tracing the history, roots, and evolution of PWO we now charge straight into future as major shake-ups are imminent! You will especially not want to miss the shocking developments over the next six weeks!

PWO Television Title: “Omega” Aaron Draven vs. Sex Appeal’s Bobby Beverly
Omega is PWO’s only two-time titleholder and the first man to pin Benjamin Boone in over two years. His death-defying style and more-guts-than-brains ring style has usually proven effective, though has slowed the champion in recent months. Beverly is determined to bring gold back to Sex Appeal in order to resume their winning ways and feels Draven is unworthy as champion. Who will leave with the title in tact?

Eye For An Eye: Shiima Xion vs. Michael “The Bomber” Façade
“The Suburban Terrorist” Façade was the first man in PWO to pin Shiima, and paid for it with a “Hostile Makeover” as Shiima blinded Façade by spraying him in the eyes with Façade’s own trademark spraypaint. Façade was sidelined, but returned to do the same to Shiima, blinding “The Filipino Flex Factory” and putting him on the shelf as well. Now, both athletes are 100% and ready to finally settle their issue. Will Shiima have his eyes on victory or will Michael Façade make him see the light?

Aeroform’s Flip Kendrick vs. Sex Appeal’s “Late Nite” Nicki Valentino
Valentino feels the ring-style of Kendrick, partner Louis Lyndon and close ally Michael Façade (collectively known as the “Ninja Elite Squad”) is an embarrassment and not what professional wrestling is all about. Instead, Valentino preaches traditional wrestling, 1980s style, and even comes to the ring dressed for the part, and carrying a list of “his moves” such as headlocks and armbars. Flip may be the most agile and awe-inspiring athlete on the PWO roster, and certainly does not take kindly to Valentino’s assertions. Who will win out in this clash of styles and philosophoes?

PLUS!
Comments from PWO Champion Johnny Gargano and top challengers “Megastar” Marion Fontaine and “Most Dominant Man” Jason Bane en route to a huge PWO Title match on next week’s broadcast. We’ll also report on a rumor concerning fellow top title contender “M-Dogg 20” Matt Cross, and hear comments from “The Natural” Brian Bender and “The Heavy Metal Highflyer” Jason Gory in preparation of his altercation with Raven in two weeks time! All this and more this week on PWO TV!

IN DEPTH PREVIEW/MATCHES : Power Trip Wrestling, Sat 12th March 2011, ‘Raising Money For The School’s P.E. Department’, Icknield High School, Luton!

The Details :

Beds,
LU3 2AH.

Doors 6.00pm – Starts 6.30pm

Tickets : Only £5 each
Reserve : 0 7 5 9 4 3 0 4 4 5 5

Hello, and welcome to the matches booked for the card, and an in depth preview for them all.

“Northern Stars Guest Match” : ‘Dynamite’ Chris Hart vs Lewy ‘Ripper’ Paradise
We welcome into PTW, two young Northern stars of British Wrestling, who are both making some noise. Chris Hart is something more of a veteran of the ring, whilst Lewy Paradise carries an exciting and charismatic reputation that will excite the fans at Power Trip Wrestling. These two have feuded before up North, and are bringing their lack of respect for each other down here to Luton. Of some note, is that there has been a severe clash of words between ‘Dynamite’ Chris Hart, and P.T. Player online, with P.T verbally abusing Chris and PTW Promoter Hannah, for bringing in ‘fourth rate Northern wrestlers’. Will this rise up at the show itself?

PTW ‘OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS’ RUMBLE : The Winner Will Be The First Ever PTW Internet Champion (all start in the ring):

With the chance to become the first ever PTW Internet Champion on the line, with the last two men fighting to a pinfall or submission, who will be the man who proves himself and walks away with the ultimate victory? The rumble includes such proven names, and unproven rookies, as Gabriel Myers, Jack Russell, Arashi, Steven Devine, Danny Jones, Wolf, Taylor Phillips, Dragonian, Mason Storm, Del Rico, Saint Vio. Who will get lucky on the night?

“Potential Showstealer” : Mr Clean’ Anton Green vs G ‘The Ghetto Superstar’

When they read the booking sheet in the world famous PTW Office, someone muttered ‘there’s a peach right there’. And that it is. The words ‘potential showstealer’ come to mind for this match. The recently turned good ‘Mr Clean’ Anton Green, against PTW’s only Grand Slam Title holder, G. P.T. Player has declined managerial duties of G on the evening, despite their long time friendship, and his recent falling out with Anton Green; as he has other situations on the show himself. Many at PTW see this as a good thing, what may well be the best pure wrestling match on the card, should now be left alone to be that.

PTW WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH : ‘The Untouchables’ Tommy Stevens & P.T. Player (c) vs PTW Hawex Academy’s Arashi & Steven Devine

In the odd world of PTW, anything can truly happen. When Danny Stevens announced himself injured and unable to wrestle for the immediate future, would the PTW World Tag Titles be vacated? No. Would there be a tournament to choose new champions? No. Would Tommy Stevens take it upon himself to choose a new tag team partner to defend the titles with (which was approved by 11 year old PTW General Manager ‘The Future of PTW’ Drewy Staniforth)? Yes.
And then the plates and the cutlery went crashing in the PTW Kitchen, as TC the PTW Office Cat hid under the sofa; as hell potentially froze over. Rumours of the devil wandering through Northampton with ice skates on at that point remain unfounded, but what is fact is that due to Tommy Stevens’s choice of tag team partner, no less than the manically egotistical P.T. Player is one half of the PTW World Tag Team Champions right now. We cant prove that they hand picked their opponents, but it does seem suspicious that two unproven rookies, Arashi & Steven Devine, will be the opponents on the night for the champions themselves. We smell a rat around these parts, due to Tommy Stevens’s status in the main event, but to be fair; it’s probably the pair of socks he left in the office a week ago.

PTW 5 STAR TITLE MATCH : Kevin Carter (c) vs Bagheera

Sometimes, the young stars realise enough is enough, and get serious; and up their game. Both these young men have chosen to do that at the same time. PTW 5 Star Champion Kevin Carter has dropped the word ‘seaside’ from his name, and Bagheera has sold out to the evil and egotistical Untouchables. Kevin is enthusiasm personified, a running one man riot of energy. Bagheera defies gravity before breakfast, for fun, and constantly leaves people amazed as to his in ring talent. This match is set to be amazing.

“Class vs Cash” : ‘As Seen On National TV’ Sean Midnight w/Tracey Kilby vs Dow Jones

The as featured on television stars of the UK’s deaf community, Sean Midnight and Tracey Kilby, are taking on another challenge bravely, in their ongoing mission to show that deaf people can achieve anything that they want to in life, and do not need to feel held back in any way. This time, in their path, is a newcomer to PTW, but not to wrestling itself, the richest man in PTW, Dow Jones; who is looking to prove that his cash means far more than Midnight & Kilby’s class!

“Tag Team Partners Collide” : ‘Scumboy’ Dani Graves vs Prodigy

Oddly, this has happened before at PTW, in Liverpool in 2010. This tag team known as Nemesis, it can only be said that they like to test each other to the very limits of competition; and if that means they have to face off against each other to do it, then they will. There is no known bad feeling in this situation, but the heat of battle can tell a different story; so who knows what will happen on the night as these two collide?

MAIN EVENT – PTW WORLD TITLE TRIPLE THREAT MATCH : PTW World Champion Snare vs Mayhem vs Tommy Stevens w/P.T Player

The main event. The one. This one doesn’t need hype. We’ll just point out the facts of what has lead us here.

* PTW World Champion Snare. For last year, the bodyguard of P.T. Player, who on the last two shows of 2010, was brutally attacked, including damaged ribs, and seriously bruised collarbone. Snare and P.T havent spoken since Snare was accused of being “weak, and nothing more than a pet, not a real scary monster”. This lead to an odd Grinch/Lucy Lou Who friendship between Snare and PTW General Manager, the 11 year old ‘The Future of PTW’ Drewy Staniforth, and Snare agreeing that Drewy’s father needs a lesson taught him the hard way.

* Former PTW World Champion Mayhem. Not seen for months in the company. and total mystery shrouds his return. Rumours have it was another decision made by Drewy, and PTW Promoter Hannah; as they know he is the one man that P.T Player legitimately fears beyond words.

* Former PTW British Champion and current PTW World Tag Team Champion Tommy Stevens. The muscle, the power, and the fighting attitude of ‘anytime, anywhere, any place, with anyone’. The perfect companion, and best friend (although they refer to it as brothers) to P.T. Player. Tommy is perhaps the last PTW Original standing from 2007, and feels that his time has finally come, and as ever, he doesnt need the fans, he doesn’t need the rules; he’s going to take the PTW World Title and take it home to his beloved Northampton.

Every match, comes with a story. Power Trip Wrestling are once more set to show you why they are ‘The Pride of Bedfordshire’, and the most active wrestling promotion in the area when it comes to charity work. We’ll see you at the show on Saturday!
