NWS Internet News Update For Week

NWS Returns To Action This Weekend With Captain Lou Memorial Tag Tournament, 2011 J-Cup Announced, More July Show Details, And More
Hello NWS fans! This is your weekly update on what’s happened, what is happening now, and what is going to happen soon in the nation’s leading family-friendly pro wrestling promotion, National Wrestling Superstars.

Upcoming Shows This Weekend

This Saturday night July 16th, NWS returns to the Dunellen, NJ Knights Of Columbus Hall (647 Grove Street, just off Washington Avenue & Route 28) for the 2011 Captain Lou Albano Memorial J-Cup Tag-Team Tournament, with a 7:35pm bell time.
Captain Lou managed more than a dozen tag-teams to championship gold while in the WWE, and continuing in that grand tradition, eight tag-teams will compete for the championshop trophy and an almost certain shot at the NWS tag-team championship. Those teams are:
The current NWS Tag-Team Champions The Jersey Shore Jocks (Mike Dennis & Chris D’Andrea)
Previous J-Cup Tag-Team winners Team Supreme (Corvis Fear & Nicky Oceans)
Team Champion (NWS Heavyweight Champion “Rampage” Rogers & NWS Hardcore Champion “Corrupted” Corey Havoc)
The New Kids On The Block (Leon & Tim)
Team Thunder Horse (Indian Chief Draven & “The Warrior” Jack Spade) with their manager Romulus The Great
The Wise Guys (“Mr. Entertainment” J.D. Smooth & Jumping Joey Janela)
Paco Libro & Jeff “Cannonball” Guerrero
“The White Urkel” B. Fehrm & Romano Gualano.
With a field as talented as this, everyone has a shot, so you don’t want to miss this year’s tournament.
In addition to the tournament, there will also be a special appearance by a former WWE Tag-Team Champion and Hall-of-Famer Nikolai Volkoff, and northeast wresting standout Steve “Monsta” Mack.
Tickets are only $19 for adults and $17 for kids and seniors.
Tickets are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704. All major charge cards are accepted, and group rates are available for groups of ten or more. Remaining seats, if any, will go on sale at the door one hour before bell time.

Other Upcoming Shows

Saturday night July 23rd, NWS returns to the Island Heights, NJ Fire Company Hall (15 Lake Avenue, just off Route 37, minutes from the Parkway and the Seaside Heights Boardwalk) with a 7:35pm bell time.
Hot times always abound on the Jersey Shore come summertime, and NWS will certainly turn up the heat with a blowout six-man tag-team main event match, as the popular Atomic Dog and Father Oz team up with former ECW hardcore icon and current Jersey Shore native John “Balls” Mahoney to face off against the dangerous veteran trio of NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion “The Love Machine” Nicky Oceans and “Mr. Entertainment” J.D. Smooth and northeast wrestling veteran big man Steve “Monsta” Mack.
But that’s just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Former NWS Heavyweight Champion and Ocean County native Ray Ray Marz will get his long-awaited rematch against the current champion “Rampage” Rogers. And a trophy of a different sort will be on the line when popular Jersey Shore lunatic Slayer takes on rival Bobby Youngblood in a “Loser Gets A Haircut”. One of these two will be leaving Island Heights a lot different than when they arrived. And in another long-running rivalry, police officer-turned-wrestler “Bounty Hunter” Johnny Ringo, with his crew of “Bounty Boys”, will once again face his hated nemesis and current NWS Hardcore Champion, “Corrupted” Corey Havoc.
There will also be appearances by regional and local pro mat stars A.C. Kewl, “Ice-Fire” Steve Zapf, and managers “Big 80’s” Donnie V. and Captain Johnny Kool.
Tickets are only $19 for adults and $17 for kids and seniors.
Saturday night July 30th, NWS returns to Cartertet, NJ’s Divine Mercy/Holy Family Parish Hall (213 Pershing Avenue, just off Washington and Roosevelt Avenues, minutes from the Turnpike) with a 7:35pm bell time.
It’s a night appropriately labeled “Tag-O-Mania”, a night dedicated to tag-team wrestling and nothing but tag-team wrestling.
The main event will feature a former WWE Tag-Team Champion and Hall-of-Famer, the great Nikolai Volkoff, teaming up for the first time ever with the former ECW Zombie, to face international star Danny Inferno and Carteret bad boy Steve “Monsta” Mack.
And what night of tag-team action would it be without the NWS Tag-Team Champions themselves, Union’s own Jersey Shore Jocks (Mike Dennis & Chris D’Andrea), defending their titles against yet-to-be-announed opponents.
Other outstanding teams in action will include Hot And Dangerous (“Too Hot” Steve Scott & Nick Talent), Team Thunder Hourse (Indian Chief Draven & “The Warrior” Jack Spade), the veteran duo of Corvis Fear & “Mr. Entertainment” J.D. Smooth, and much more.
Tickets are only $19 for adults and $17 for kids and seniors.
Saturday night August 6th, NWS returns to the Bayshore area of New Jersey at Keansburg, NJ’s New Point Comfort Fire Company Hall (192 Carr Avenue, minutes from Route 36 and the Keansburg Amusement Pier)for the 2011 Chris Candido Memorial J-Cup Tournament.
This night in Keansburg is NWS’ biggest night of the year. The J-Cup has a long and storied history as one of the most prestigious annual events in pro wrestling, with many past winners going on to careers in WWE and TNA. Six years ago, NWS renamed this anuual event in memory of their good friend, the late former WWE and TNA star Chris Candido.
On this fabled night, twelve of the top cruiserweight and junior heavyweight wrestlers on the circuit today will compete in a one-night single-elimination tournament for the coveted J-Cup trophy and the career bragging rights that accompany it. NWS is proud to announce the first three competitors: Current CZW Champion Devon Moore, Johnny Knockout, and NWS Jersey Shore Champion The Jersey Kidd.
But the heavyweights will not be left out either this night, as there will be a “Baker’s Dozen Battle Royal”, with the winner to face former ECW and TNA hardcore icon Tommy Dreamer in a one-on-one match that same night. This Battle Royal will be referee’d by none other than Chris Candido’s younger brother, a former NWS star himself, Johnny Candido.
Tickets are only $20 for adults and $18 for kids and seniors.
Tickets for all upcoming shows are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704. All major charge cards are accepted, and group rates are available for groups of ten or more.
