Status of Amy Lee in WSU
— WSU has been releasing several videos from wrestlers on the WSU roster concerning the 8/6 event and we have a new one to share in today’s update. One major match taking place on this event is “PrymeTyme” Amy Lee, a former WSU Tag Team Champion & The First Ever Uncensored Rumble winner taking on the former 3-Time WSU Spirit Champion & 2011 J-Cup Winner, Brittney Savage.
Savage recruited Amy Lee for the Cosmo Club back at WSU’s November 2010’s “Breaking Barriers” iPPV event. Lee became the Cosmo Club’s bodyguard. However, things unraveled for the Cosmo Club, when Savage disbanded the Cosmo Club at the Four Year Anniversary Show in March of this year.
Since killing off the Cosmo Club, Savage has gone on a war-path, defeating every single former member of the Cosmo Club during the J-Cup tournament, where she defeated Rick Cataldo, Cindy Rogers & Jana. Savage would go on to win the tournament, defeating Spirit Champion Sassy Stephanie. Savage parlayed her J-Cup win into a WSU World Title shot at WSU’s Uncensored Rumble IV event. However, unfinished business remained between Lee & Savage, as Lee was the one person of Savage’s ex-faction that she never got through.
During WSU’s Uncensored Rumble IV iPPV, Cindy Rogers, the ex-tag partner of Amy Lee, retired in an emotional ceremony. Lee, on the same show, also made it clear that after 20 years of being in the business, she realized her career was winding down as well. Lee also said she was hoping Savage would defeat Mercedes Martinez for the WSU World Title, as she wanted to face Savage for the WSU World Title. However, Martinez extended her 31 month streak as WSU Champion by defeating Savage.
In The Uncensored Rumble match, Amy Lee earned the right to enter the rumble last, winning an 8-woman tag match earlier in the event. Lee ran roughshod, and was able to lay Serena, Nikki Roxx & The Boston Shore out. All Lee had to do was toss everyone out of the ring. However, Savage ran out and hit her patented diamond cutter on Lee. Savage then eliminated Lee, costing Lee a chance at earning a WSU Championship match.
Lee, infuriated, ran back into the ring and threw Savage through the ropes, which led to Savage running to the locker room.
WSU signed Savage vs Lee immediately. However, Lee asked for this match to be Uncensored Rules, which means anything goes.
For Savage, Savage needs this win to rebound off her loss to Mercedes Martinez and to prove that she could beat all of her ex-running mates. For Lee, this could be her last match in WSU if she does not come out victorious. With other challengers ranked above her in the WSU World Championship rankings, Lee needs this win to be considered for a shot at the WSU World Title.
Ever since Lee openly talked about retiring at WSU’s Uncensored Rumble IV iPPV, rumors have been running rampant about Lee’s future. WSUWrestling.com caught up with Lee. All Lee would say is that she would retire on her own terms and that “no blonde bimbo barbie will retire me.”
