Napier Gets Shot At Afghani Assault Weapon, The Best Tag Team “Evaaa” Returns “When Worlds Collide”

by Trapper Tom, Ring Announcer/Wrestling Journalist

The new Keystone State Wrestling Alliance Heavyweight Champion must have felt threatened at Plum Borough Community Days on July 30 because he sent a message to Battle Royal winner Mitch Napier by attacking him after a historic win.
Napier won $1,000 and a shot at the KSWA World Heavyweight Championship during the Main Event in Plum Borough. When a check presentation was to be made, Ali Kaida stormed the ring and wiped out the Mannerly Midwesterner, stuffing the payday into Napier’s mouth. Moments earlier, Napier survived a two-on-one attack from “Dr. Devastation” Lou Martin and “The King” Del Douglas, and dumped the duo over the top rope. And prior to that, Kaida has withstood his most dramatic challenge yet from a spirited Jay Flash.
That leads up to this showdown between the Afghani Assault Weapon and the 2011 Winner of the Joe Abby Memorial Tournament. Two Megastars at the very tip top of their game. Ali Kaida’s rage and power is unmatched in the KSWA and Napier is the most decorated amateur-turned-professional in the ranks. In recent months Napier has even exhibited more power and risk-taking. This promises to be a challenge to remember for Napier and an important defense for Kaida.
More than 2 1/2 years ago, Alex Arcadian and Ric Rumsky were raising the bar for tag team wrestling in the KSWA. Arcadian was the power between the duo and Rumsky provided the kinetic energy. The duo had the Krazies charged. In fact the duo held the KSWA tag team championship for about an hour in September of 2008. They defeated The Latin Assassin and Blood Beast for the straps at “A Night For Kody” fundraiser. Arcadian and Rumsky then lost the belts when they were dastardly forced to defend the belts immediately upon winning them. At the height of their success, Arcadian suffered an injury and the team dissolved. Now, they reunite as part of an eight-man matchup (with Kris Kash and Shane Starr) against Canadian Perfection (Drew Belanger and J.P. Goulet) and the VIP’s (Lou Martin and Shawn Blanchard). All four teams have had problems with one another so this should showcase all eight men’s abilities.
The KSWA Tag Team Championships are on the line as Lord Zoltan and Justin Sane defend against “The King” Del Douglas and The Jester. With Millvale Days right around the corner, The King would love nothing more than to be able to bring KSWA gold to his homeland. And the Jester would love nothing more than to cackle in the faces of the Millvale countrymen. Sane and Zoltan just came off of a couple of major defenses against Canadian Perfect and are looking for the best competition around. Both Megastars appear re-energized since winning the KSWA tag gold and they are running on all cylinders.
Jr. Heavyweight Champion “Ice Man” Tony Johnson continues to accept charges from all comers. On Saturday he will face “The Drunken Luchadore” Joey Quervo. On the outset, Joey doesn’t seem to be a legitimate challenge to Johnson, but remember Quervo was one-half of The Mexican Connection (with La Lucha) and held a tag team championship for five months in 2008. Quervo has not been at the top of his game in recent months (in fact, he had been gone from competition for a little while), but Quervo can surprise and even shock opponents with his fast-moving style. Johnson on the other hand has been keeping top notch talent like Del Douglas and Alex Arcadian at bay. The young Johnson continues to impress with each outing.
In another tag team matchup (the KSWA has always boasted the best, most challenging tag team division anywhere) features The Latin Assassin and Jay Flash against members of the Legion of the Apocalypse: Bobby Badfingers and The Blood Beast. While Latin and Flash have not worked together previously, Badfingers and Beast formed a team called “Bad Blood” a few years ago. Now they’ve been reunited by the devious Mayor Mystery. The Mayor of Parts Unknown has been barred from When World’s Collide by KSWA Owner Bobby O. The owner knew that Mystery would inject himself into the night’s important proceedings, plus the Mayor forced Bobby’s hand by being so disrespectful to the Krazies–new and old alike–at Plum. Latin assisted Flash after Jay succumbed to Ali Kaida’s Camel Clutch. The Assassin has always had his problems with former-friend Blood Beast. And Bobby Badfingers, a pure brawler in the most simplistic of turns, gave Latin fits during two title defenses.
More details are to follow. “When Worlds Collide” is set for this Saturday, August 13 at the Home of Professional Wrestling in Pittsburgh, the Lawrenceville Moose, 120 51st Street in the Lawrenceville neighborhood within the city of Pittsburgh. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for kids. Bell time is 7:30 p.m. Card is subject to change. Go to www.kswa.net for more information.
