Ring of Honor “Homecoming 2012” Results 1/20/2012 Philadelphia, PA by Jason Namako

Pre-Show Notes:

Attendance was said to be around 700.

No return date was announced.

Entrance was setup just like the Final Battle iPPV.

Before the show, ring announcer Bobby Cruise announced that due to a staph infection, Eddie Edwards would be unable to compete and would also be off the Norfolk, VA card tomorrow night.

1. “Gateway to Honor” Return Match: Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team defeated Future Shock by pinfall.

2. 4 Corner Survival: “The Sicilian Psychopath” Tommaso Ciampa w/The Embassy defeated Grizzly Redwood, Andy “Right Leg” Ridge & “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett by pinfall when he pinned Redwood with Project Ciampa.

Steve Corino comes out to cut a promo talking about his future, but is interrupted by Kevin Steen. Steen tries to goad Corino into hitting him, but Corino walks away.

3. “Wrestling’s Worst Nightmare” Kevin Steen defeated “The Pretty Boy Pitbull” Kenny King w/Rhett Titus by pinfall with an F5.

After the match, Rhett Titus, who is on crutches due to his recent knee surgery, tried to attack Steen, but Steen put him in the Sharpshooter.

Before the next match, Shane Hagadorn comes out and asks Chris Hero if he can be in his corner for this match, but Hero refuses.

4. “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin defeated “That Young Knockout Kid” Chris Hero by pinfall.

After the match, Hagadorn rips on Hero, and then Hero KO’s him with the roaring elbow.

5. No Holds Barred Match: Roderick Strong w/Truth Martini defeated Adam Cole(subbing for Eddie Edwards) by pinfall with a backbreaker.

During the match, Michael Elgin tried to get involved, but Eddie Edwards came out and chased Elgin to the back.

After the match, the Philadelphia crowd gave a standing ovation for Cole.

6. Proving Ground Match: Jigsaw & Hallowicked of CHIKARA defeated Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions The Briscoes by pinfall when Jigsaw pinned Mark with a rollup.

During the match, members of the CHIKARA roster(Mike Quackenbush, The Colony, Dasher Hatfield, Daturyne, Ultramantis Black) came out to support Jigsaw & Hallowicked.

At one point, Mark Briscoe tried to rip off the mask of Hallowicked, which is a big no-no in CHIKARA.

After the match, Ultramantis Black cut a promo saying that the Briscoes tried to rip off Hallowicked’s mask, which is sacred in CHIKARA. So on April 28th, when Jigsaw & Hallowicked get their title match in Chicago, CHIKARA will take someting that is sacred of yours, the Ring of Honor Tag Team Titles.

The Briscoes then cut a promo saying that the ending was “BS” and that CHIKARA as signed their “Death Wish”.

Crowd was reportedly pro-CHIKARA during the match and post-match promo.

7. Main Event in a Champion vs. Champion Match for the Ring of Honor World Title: “American Wolf” Davey Richards(c) defeated Ring of Honor Television Champion Jay Lethal by pinfall to the retain the title after hitting multiple kicks.

During the match, Roderick Strong tried to interfere but was quickly thwarted.

After the match, Richards put over Lethal and wanted to have a rematch on Ring of Honor TV.
