NINJAS REGAIN SHIMMER TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP!
————————————————–

History was made on July 7th in Montreal when “The Canadian Ninjas” Portia Perez & Nicole Matthews regained the SHIMMER Tag Team Championship on an event promoted by NCW Femmes Fatales.

Early in the night, the Ninjas defeated the duo of Sweet Cherrie & Cherry Bomb to earn a SHIMMER Tag Team Title shot at a future NCW Femmes Fatales event. However, Perez & Matthews later demanded that they get their title shot immediately, since titleholders Sara Del Rey & Courtney Rush were already there.

Del Rey & Rush have never seen eye to eye, as Rush’s pinfall victory to earn the titles on SHIMMER 48 took place after Sara had abandoned Courtney in the ring during final moments of the match. It was no different in Montreal, as Sara once again walked out on her partner, leading to the Ninjas defeating Courtney in the impromptu title match, becoming the first two time SHIMMER Tag Team Champions.

Look for the NCW Femmes Fatales IX DVD featuring the match to be released at http://www.ncwfemmesfatales.com/ during the coming months.

SHIMMER TO PARTICIPATE IN WRESTLECON!
————————————————–

In case you missed the official announcement earlier this week, SHIMMER – WOMEN ATHLETES will be participating in a huge independent wrestling festival during WrestleMania weekend next year.

SHIMMER, CHIKARA, Dragon Gate USA, EVOLVE, and Combat Zone Wrestling will all be presenting live events at the Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, NJ from April 5th through April 7th.

SHIMMER 53 will take place during the afternoon of Saturday, April 6th, on the same day as CHIKARA and Dragon Gate USA events during the late afternoon and evening. This will mark the second time that SHIMMER will hold a live event outside of its Berwyn Eagles Club home base (the first was the SHIMMER 14 event from Inverness, FL during 2007).

If you will be on the east coast during WrestleMania weekend next year, don’t miss this rare opportunity to catch a live SHIMMER event without needing to travel to Chicago to do it!

Visit http://www.wrestlecon.com/ for more details.

Thus, the SHIMMER live event schedule is as follows:

SHIMMER 49 & 50: October 27, 2012 Berwyn, IL at Berwyn Eagles Club

HELP RHIA REACH HER FUNDRAISING GOAL!
————————————————–

SHIMMER’s Rhia O’Reilly is in the final days of her fundraising campaign to benefit The Eve Appeal. She posted the following at The SHIMMER Forum:

Some of you may know that over the past 10 months I have been completing a charity event called the Gold Challenge! Since the Olympics are coming our way this year I agreed to run 2012km (approx. 1250 miles) in one year to raise money for The Eve Appeal who fund research into gynaecological cancers in women. You can find out more about them here: http://www.eveappeal.org.uk/

I also agreed to try and raise £2012 (a bit over $3000!) whilst doing this crazy mission!

I ran my first race on New Years Day, I completed a half marathon, I completed my FIRST EVER marathon and I’ve been running most days in between! I have less than 50 miles to go…and I have 18 days to reach my target!

I’m 75% of the way and I just need that extra bit to help my charity of choice! Someone suggested I turned to the fans of Shimmer. I said “Oh Really? O’REILLY!!!!”

If you can spare a couple of bucks to help this great cause you will be doing your good deed for the day and helping a great cause! If everyone even donated £2 each (aprox $3) I would totally reach my target!

If you feel you can help you can donate right here: http://www.justgiving.com/rdpixie

I know some of you already have and THANK YOU SO MUCH! As an added bonus, anyone who donates or has donated $15 or more will be eligible to receive an exclusive 8×10 just for them if I reach my target!

Better go get running shoes on!

PRIME: Zach Gowen vs. Gregory Iron; Johnny Gargano vs. Jimmy Jacobs Signed for 8/19 Wrestlelution iPPV

PRIME Wrestling presents “Wrestlelution 5: An Enduring Spirit” on Sunday afternoon, August 19 from the Jacobs Pavilion in Cleveland, Ohio with a 3pm Eastern start time. This event will also air live on internet Pay-Per-View courtesy of our friends at GoFightLive! Log on to PRIMEwrestling.com or GFL.tv today to place your order for this event for only $14.99!

This week, on PRIME Wrestling TV, two matches were added to the card that have fans buzzing –

“One Legged Wonder” Zach Gowen vs. Gregory Iron
In 2003, Zach Gowen defied every odd possible when, in spite of losing a leg to cancer at age 8, Zach realized his dream of becoming a wrestling superstar known the world over. One of Zach’s many fans was a 16-year old Gregory Iron, himself suffering from cerebral palsy. After watching Zach, Greg started to believe that he too could overcome his limitations and live his dream of becoming a professional wrestler. Greg did just that, starting a whirlwind of attention that includes ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Fox News, and a personal endorsement from CM Punk last year. Greg realized another dream when Zach Gowen came to PRIME Wrestling to team with Greg, in an attempt to win the Tag Team Titles, but after Greg was injured via a powerbomb a month ago, and a miscommunication between Greg & Zach this month (watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e11NEeWRJ9c), the world’s most inspirational team imploded. Now, wrestling’s most unusual and unexpected match has been signed as the world’s only wrestler with cerebral palsy Gregory Iron is forced to fight his own personal hero Zach Gowen. We will get comments from Zach & Greg about this match this upcoming week on PRIME Wrestling TV, on SportsTime Ohio as well as our YouTube page (www.Youtube.com/PRIMEwrestlingTV)

PRIME Championship: “Zombie Princess” Jimmy Jacobs vs. “Whole Shebang” Johnny Gargano
18 months ago, Jimmy Jacobs entered PRIME Wrestling disguised under a ski mask, injuring Johnny Gargano’s back with a video camera. After a year of mind games and psychological warfare, Jacobs finally unmasked at the start of this year and put Gargano through even more hell. It was Jacobs’ mission to march into Gargano’s own hometown, home promotion, and place Johnny built his reputation and force him out. Jacobs wants to replace Gargano, not just as the top star in PRIME Wrestling, but in all of independent wrestling. According to Jacobs, everything Gargano has done in his career, Jacobs did it first and Jacobs did it better, but never got the credit or adulation Gargano enjoys today. After manipulating Sex Appeal to aid in his mind games, Gargano overcame their threat (watch the clip here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asQ4JGxVBsA) to earn a shot at Jacobs and the PRIME Championship Gargano once held longer than anyone. Can Johnny Gargano reclaim his legacy or can Jacobs erase the name of Johnny Gargano from PRIME Wrestling at the very event Gargano has stolen the show at year after year?

This in addition to the matches we announced last week…

“The Man Beast” RHINO vs. “Most Dominant Man” JASON BANE
After losing out on a PRIME Championship opportunity earlier this year, former champion Jason Bane set out on a mission to re-prove himself. To do so, he challenged ANYONE to face him one-on-one and didn’t care whether it was someone within PRIME Wrestling, someone from another wrestling organization, or even someone from the world of mixed-martial arts. We were all surprised to hear that “The Man Beast” Rhino had been the man to answer the call. Rhino is a two-time World Champion elsewhere, and is known as one of the most dangerous and intense competitors in the industry today. Bane, meanwhile has earned his reputation as PRIME’s Most Dominant Man, and is 4-0 in Wrestlelution battles, including a victory over Raven two years ago at Wrestlelution 3. It is Baneline vs. Gore in the battle of two of the most ruthless athletes anywhere!

“Megastar” MARION FONTAINE vs. “Omega” AARON DRAVEN
Commissioner Justin LaBar & Upper Management’s Aaron Maguire Presiding At Ringside
The feud between Fontaine and LaBar has waged for nearly two years now, and was only intensified with LaBar was named PRIME Commissioner and, essentially, Fontaine’s boss. Fontaine and adviser Aaron Maguire hatched an elaborate plot to frame LaBar as “unfair”, leading to Upper Management putting LaBar on probation, and naming Maguire to the board to help watch over things. Fontaine had the advantage for a while, but when he “accidentally” struck LaBar with a steel chair, he too was put on probation by Upper Management! Finally, the two agreed it was time to settle this for good – Fontaine will meet LaBar’s hand-selected representative and the man who pinned Fontaine in the main event of last year’s Wrestlelution – the thrill-seeking high-risk “Omega” Aaron Draven! Furthermore, LaBar & Maguire have both stated they will be ringside to watch over the match. Anytime these two have gotten involved, it has only made things more chaotic and impossible to control! Who will have final bragging rights in the Fontaine vs. LaBar rivalry?

Plus: Special Ring Announcer – Cosmopolitan Bachelor of the Year 2011 and local entertainment reporter Chris Van Vliet & Special Guest Timekeeper – New 102 DJ Kory!

Next week we will announce even more matches, including a former X Division Champion making his PRIME debut in a one-on-one match that has never taken place before anywhere!
