Indy News #2: September 25 (C4)

Steven Ashe sent this in:

The International Challenge continues?
On Friday Sept. 11th, 2009 ? history was made, as ?Mr. Wrestling? Kevin Steen successfully defending the C*4 Championship for the first time ever.

In a tremendous back and fourth contest, Steen cleanly defeated former TNA Superstar, ?Maple Leaf Muscle? Petey Williams.

Steen made it clear from the moment he won the title, he would take on all challengers from around the world. On Friday Oct. 16th, it looks like his world wide challenge has been accepted ? this time with a challenge coming from Europe -Switzerland to be exact.

At C*4’s ?Rise Above? – challenging ?Mr. Wrestling? for the C*4 championship, is the internationally renowned Ring of Honor and Chikara superstar ? the Stalwart Swiss Powerhouse, Claudio Castagnoli.

In what should be a hard-hitting, physical, wrestling contest ? Steen’s got his work cut out for him. Over powered, and physically smaller ? Steen will be in a rare situation, where in C*4 action, he?ll be the smaller man in the ring.

Can Steen retain over Claudio? Or will Double C make a huge splash in C*4, and become the new C*4 Champion?

A perfect streak comes to an end?
?MVP? Michael Von Payton was riding high in C*4 going into Season III. With wins over all he faced ? MVP was looking to make Season III his golden year.

However, then something happened? MVP became obsessed. MVP became obsessed with the ever popular, C*4’s resident underdog, Twiggy.

Under questionable circumstances, Von Payton defeated Twiggy in January and March 2009, in C*4 action. Finally on May 2nd, MVP defeated Twiggy in a match with the stipulation that if Von Payton won, Twiggy would be banned from C*4 action for Season 3.

MVP, once again used questionable tactics, and following the victory, assaulted Twiggy. Due to the unnecessary violence after the match, Payton was pulled from the C*4 Championship tournament.

In June, once again in shady fashion, Von Payton was victorious over Tyson Dux, in what had been an incredible wrestling contest. Prior to the match, Von Payton added insult to Twiggy and his fans, by playing his music and taunting that Twiggy will never be seen again in C*4.

On Sept. 11th, Von Payton attempted to avenge an April 2008 loss to El Generico. In a back and forth contest, Von Payton looked close to victory ? when a man sitting in the crowd wearing an El Generico match, stepped into the ring, and delivered a hard super kick to MVP’s jaw. Removing his mask, it was revealed that the super-kicker was none other than Twiggy.

Twiggy, left the ring, and was removed from the venue by C*4 staff and management. In the midst of the chaos, Generico took advantage and ended the year long streak of MVP.

Fuming angry, Von Payton went to C*4 management, and demanded that the loss be removed from the record books. Von Payton also demanded a chance to prove that Season 2 was not a fluke ? and challenged anybody who he faced off with last season who wanted a rematch, to face off with him.

And quickly the challenge was answered? Tyson Dux has signed to face off with MVP in a rematch from June’s ?Crossing the Line II?. Von Payton has accepted match ? but has requested one stipulation on the match, that C*4 has agreed to. That stipulation is that Twiggy is banned from ringside ? including the audience as a paying fan.

With the threat of Twiggy removed, MVP looks to get back on track. Or will Tyson Dux manage to derail MVP permanently.

What do Sleepy Hallow, the Mushroom Kingdom and Japan have in common?
Answer: They?ll all be represented in C*4 on Oct. 16th, 2009, in what could be a show-stealing 3-way dance.
As Halloween approaches, it seems that it is no better time, than to finally welcome back the Nightmare Warrior, Hallowicked.

Wicked will be making his first C*4 appearance since Oct. 2008. Looking to make-up for lost time, Hallowicked will be trying to start his third season on top of things.

Stepping into the ring against Hallowicked are two different opponents. First, C*4 regular, and fan favourite, one half of the Super Smash Brothers ? Player Uno!

Uno’s singles accomplishments in C*4 are well known ? having won the initial C*4 Snowbrawl tournament (where he defeated Hallowicked in the finals) ? as well as making it to the finals of the C*4 Championship tournament.

Player Uno is looking to rebound, after an early season loss to The Untouchables ? and a huge singles win would be just the thing to do it.

Lastly, C*4 is very happy to welcome another International talent, a regular for the HUSTLE promotion in Japan, and a prot?g? of former ECW and WWE superstar, Tajiri ? C*4 proudly welcome KUSHIDA.

Kushida is a high flyer and hard hitter, the likes of which have yet to be seen in C*4. How will he stand up against Uno and Hallowicked? Come out on Friday Oct. 16th, 2009 and find out!
