Indy News #2: July 13

The fastest growing wrestling promotion in the southeast returned to the National Guard Armory in Wilmington, NC with an action packed show when UPWA rolled into town on July 11th.

In the Main Event, LA Tank defeated UPWA Carolinas Champion Beast to win the UPWA Carolinas Championship. The match was a no-DQ match which Tank took full advantage of, hitting Beast with repeated chair shots to capture the title. Beast issued a statement after the match that he was invoking his rematch clause for July 25th and that bout will a be Last Man Standing contest.

The Amazing Velvet defeated Djinn after blatant interference by guest referee Christopher Shane backfired leading Velvet to the victory. After the match, Djinn laid out Christopher Shane with a sitout powerbomb.

In other action, UPWA Tag Team Champions The Nigerian Nightmares defeated Smooth Excellence to retain the titles. The Nightmares are on a roll and looked to be unstoppable at this point. The entire locker room seems stumped on how to stop this awesome tandem.

Christopher Shane defeated Terrific Thomas and 2Dxtreme to become the No. 1 contender for the UPWA Cruiserweight Title.
The debuting team of Biggie Smalls defeated the International Connection in Tag Team Action.

In the opening contest, J.C. Walker defeated Jason Gotti in a back and forth match.

UPWA returns to the Wilmington Armory on July 25th with an action packed card headlined by the UPWA Hall of Fame induction of Ivan Koloff. For more information visit www.theupwa.com
