Indy News #1: May 12

C4 Wrestling sent this in:

Saturday June 6th, 2009

With momentum building – we mark the completion of C*4’s second season ? doubling our crowds from one year ago ? and with shows getting better and better ? we continue to strive to bring Ottawa the best professional wrestling entertainment possible.

On June 6th, 2009 we will reach an important milestone. In which will undoubtedly be the most important moment in C*4’s timeline we crown our first Champion.

Eight men will have the opportunity to step up and reach for the gold ? in doing so; they must survive four other opponents.

The break down of the tourney will be as follows:

Four opening round matches ? all matches must end via pin-fall or submission ? No DQ’s or Count-outs.
The winners will proceed to a four corner elimination match-up.
Eliminations will only take place via pin-fall and submission. ? No DQ’s or Count-outs.
The final man standing will be crowned the First ever C*4 Champion.

Who’s in? (?and who’s out?!)

Following C*4’s ?Stand Alone? on May 2nd, several more spots in the C*4 Championship Tournament were filled.

We can now state that the following men will compete in the tournament:

-?Last Persian Warrior? Rahim Ali ***won his spot by winning the Snowbrawl 2 tournament.

-Player Uno ***won his spot by defeating Kevin Steen, Generico & Sabian at Domination 2k9.

-Xtremo***won his spot by defeating Kevin Steen, Generico & Sabian at Domination 2k9.

-Stupefied***won his spot by defeating Kevin Steen, Generico & Sabian at Domination 2k9.

-?Superstar? Shayne Hawke ***won his spot by defeating Rush in a qualifying match at Stand Alone.

And now for a decision that will go not without controversy ? one more in, and one more out.

In their third encounter against each other, the undefeated ?MVP? Michael Von Payton once again defeated Twiggy. As per stipulations before the match Twiggy will not be allowed to wrestle in C*4 until the end of Season 3. Furthermore, he will not be allowed to compete on June 6th, 2009 at ?Crossing the Line II?.

At stake for MVP in this contest was Von Payton’s shot at being in the C*4 Championship Tournament. With his victory over Twiggy, he assumed he had done just that.

To win all three contests Von Payton illegally held the ropes for leverage, and following his win over Twiggy, he delivered a brutal kick to his head, knocking him unconscious.

Due to these actions C*4 management has is pulling Michael Von Payton out of the Tournament. This conclusion was reached due to the fact we are upholding the non-compete ruling for Twiggy for Season 3 ? and as such, to penalize Von Payton, without totally ignoring the stipulations of the match, this decision was reached.

Von Payton is invited to compete on Saturday June 6th, 2009 in non-tournament action. If this invitation is accepted, we will notify our fans as soon as possible.

Although using questionable tactics, MVP has built up an undefeated streak this season ? and we recognize his talent. We hope to have MVP competing in C*4 action on June 6th2009.

With MVP out ? we welcome another talent in. Interestingly enough, the last man to pin Von Payton in a C*4, last June ? ?Mr. Wrestling? Kevin Steen.

More than proving he belongs in the tournament with a huge wins over international superstars, Sonjay Dutt, Ricky Reyes, and the Super Smash Brothers, this season, Steen enters the tournament, looking to make good on promises made to fans and himself ? to be the first C*4 Champion.

Steen has been a mainstay in C*4 since the first ever show. This season saw him take a drastic change in attitude. Turning on fans, and aligning himself with Frankie the Mobster early in the season, Steen took a cocky attitude to the ring, looking down on the fans, and those who stood against him.

His attitude seems to have changed, when the Super Smash Brothers and Xtremo finally defeated him in the centre of the ring. In doing so the SSB and Xtremo all gained entrance into the Championship tournament.

Steen has since dedicated himself to showing C*4 fans why it was them, who years ago gave him the nickname ?Mr. Wrestling?. Steen, alone, wants to prove that he can do what needs to be done.

With this, we are happy to announce the first ? first round tournament match?

In a first time ever encounter, which has been slowly building since Sept.’s ?Triumph? event?

C*4 Championship Tournament Quarter-Finals

Xtremo

Vs.

?Mr. Wrestling? Kevin Steen

Xtremo’s mission all season long has been to ?prove himself? to Steen, and C*4 fans. Defeating all comers, all season, only falling to defeat after standing toe-to-toe, and hanging in move for move with El Generico. Xtremo will finally get the opportunity to face off with Steen in singles action.

Will Xtremo manage to repeat history and pin Steen on June 6th? Or will Steen prove to everybody why he’s called ?Mr. Wrestling??

With that announced, three more championship tournament matches are ready to be announced.

First ? in a first time ever in C*4 meeting, two of Quebec’s finest young talents, who have recently burst out on the international stage, face off.

One half of the Super Smash Brothers, Stupefied aka Player Dos ? a finalist in C*4’s Snowbrawl 2009 tourney steps into the ring for a shot at the biggest championship opportunity in his young career.

He will face off with another (along with MVP), flawless-season-record-holder, ?Superstar? Shayne Hawke.

Hawke has defeated a who’s who of young talent this season. Starting in September with a win over Ontario mainstay, Rip Impact ? and adding talents like Ethan Page, ?Chainsaw? Joe Gacy, and Rush.

As well, he’s picked up the ‘services? of the former Stinky the Homeless Guy ? rechristening him as Bash Bison. Continually belittling the mammoth Bash, and holding financially security over his head ? has awaken a beast ? which he (for now anyways) is managing to control.

Hawke is looking to use his ?insurance policy?, Bash, to help in the chase for the C*4 Championship. Will he be successful? Or will Stupefied end the string of luck that Hawke has had in Season 2?

And now, the final two opening round matches ? each one, will see a Snowbrawl tournament winner stepping up against an unknown challenger.

First, 2008 Snowbrawl winner, Player Uno ? who’s had an incredibly successful career in the last year ? steps into line for what could be one of the biggest nights of his career.

Uno who along with Stupefied have had match of the night outings all season long, against the likes of Kevin Steen, Sabian, El Generico, Franky the Mobster, and The Flatliners. However, this will be Uno’s first task all season in singles action.

Player Uno will step into the ring with a TBA Wildcard tournament participant.

This participant will be revealed on Saturday June 6th, when they enter the ring to compete.

Also finding himself in a similar predicament is ?The Last Persian Warrior? Rahim Ali.

Ali, has had a mixed season ? suffering great personal attacks from ?Impact? Eddie Osbourne, but also reaching career success in singles action.

As noted earlier, Rahim Ali defeated three men (actually four) to become the 2009 Snowbrawl tournament champion ? and was actually the first qualifier for the C*4 Championship Tournament.

Will Ali be able to pull off a sequel to his Snowbrawl tourney victory and walk away with the biggest win of his career? Find out on June 6th!
