Former WWE and ECW manager Don “Cyrus” Callis joining the English commentary team for New Japan World

New Japan

Former WWE and ECW manager Don “Cyrus” Callis announced on his weekly “Killing the Town” podcast on Tuesday with former WWE, WCW and ECW star Lance Storm on PodcastOne.com that he will be joining ROH commentator Kevin Kelly as part of the English commentary team for the New Japan World subscription service going forward.

Callis replaces Steve Corino on color commentary after Corino’s recent departure from ROH to join NXT and the WWE Performance Center as a coach. New Japan announced last week that there will be English commentary on all of their major iPPVs going forward, beginning with the New Beginning iPPV in Sapporo on February 5.

This is Callis’s first major commentary gig since the end of ECW, when he did color commentary with Joey Styles. Callis last appeared for a major promotion back in 2003 when he was one of the on-air authority figures during the weekly TNA PPV series.
