CM Punk: “I’m done with professional wrestling…Wrestling is in the rear view mirror”

CM Punk

Aaron Bronsteter of TSN is featuring an interview with Phil “CM Punk” Brooks where Punk was again asked to clarify his recent comments about returning to pro wrestling.

Punk told Ariel Helwani on Wednesday that he had no plans to be involved with the All In event in Chicago this September and that he’s never been approached with an actual offer to make a return to pro wrestling outside of brief invitations.

Much like his comments earlier this week, Punk appears to be very focused on his mixed martial arts career with the UFC and it would appear he has no interest in making a return to pro wrestling anytime soon, if ever.

“Yesterday I said a bunch of stuff about wrestling and how I’ve never gotten a true offer. This does not mean I want to wrestle (laughing). I’m done. I’m done. I’m done with professional wrestling. A lot of people like to be mad at me about that. They make fun of me because I lost my first fight. And it’s like, that’s fine. You are entitled to your opinion. But you do not own me and I am entitled to do what I want to do. And that’s what I’m doing. Wrestling is in the rear view mirror. I’ve been trying for five years to be wrestling in the rear view mirror. Some people just won’t let it go. They want to live my life for me. I kinda don’t understand that. It doesn’t matter what I say. I said no, no, no, no so many times that people just kinda always be like, ‘Oh so there is a chance.’ People always come and go and they come back and they leave and they come back. This is where I live now (UFC). This is my head space.”
