Lucha star Hijo de Cien Caras murdered

Wrestleview’s own Josh Boutwell sent this in:

R.I.P. Hijo de Cien Caras

Off the heels of the murder of LL-USA star, Solid, last week yet another luchador has been gunned down this month. IWRG star, Hijo de Cien Caras, was shot and murdered Sunday night outside of a house in Mexico. He and a woman, Adela Luna (possibly his wife), were sitting in a car when an unidentified man walked up to the car and began firing shots into the car striking Caras 4 times.

Hijo de Cien Caras, real name Ignacio Jimenez, was only 33 years old. Despite his name (Hijo de Cien Caras) he wasn’t actually related to the Cien Caras family. He (along with Cien Caras Jr.) rented the gimmick from the original Cien Caras. However, he IS part of the legendary Parka family. He is the brother of L.A. Park and nephew of Super Parka/Volador Sr. (he’s also the cousin of Volador Jr. and uncle of Hijo de L.A. Park obviously).

Hijo de Cien Caras made his debut back in 2005 under the Caras gimmick but it is unclear when his actual debut in Lucha was. Caras has competed for AAA and CMLL but was primarily a star for IWRG in the last few years. He and longtime partner Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. were the IWRG Intercontinental Tag Team Champions from June of this year until last week when they dropped the belts to the father-son team of Pirata Morgan & Hijo de Pirata Morgan. He and Mascara also held those titles one more time back in 2007 where they defended the belts an IWRG record 12 times successfully. They didn’t drop those titles until 2009 to the team of Scorpio Jr. & Ricky Cruz. Caras also won the Occidente Tag Team Titles with Cien Caras Jr. twice in CMLL. No suspect has yet been named in the murder of Caras but if there is anymore information released it will be included in my Lucha Column this Friday.
