Angle talks leaving WWE, Olympic aspirations, more

Mike Mooneyham posted an interview with Kurt Angle. Here are a few highlights:

– On leaving WWE: “All WWE was worried about was me making John Cena look strong, to put him over. That was more important to him than my health,” Angle said at the time. “From then on, my attitude toward Vince turned sour. We had a great relationship before that.”

– On TNA: “We’re not like the monster up north, but we’re getting there.”

– Olympic aspirations: “Could I still go? Yes. I just couldn’t do all that training I was doing and pro wrestling. I think I bit off more than I could chew. It was a learning experience and everyone’s asking me to do it in 2016. Are you nuts? Are you out of your mind? I’ll be 47. No way. I learn from my mistakes.”

– On the TNA locker room: “Everybody’s helping each other. It’s not cutthroat. Nobody’s trying to one-up the other. It’s more of a team. Everybody’s pulling for one another because they want the show to succeed. It’s a very different atmosphere. I love it.”
