Introduction

Hello everyone and welcome to the latest edition of Predictions from the Faculty! This time, we will predict the outcome for WWE Hell in a Cell. The show will be held live inside the Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA.

I personally want to thank Jason Namako for being under control of the predictions for TNA Bound for Glory. I was in the process of moving around and was unable to meet the deadline unless someone subbed in for me. Jason sacrificed his time and energy to bring that to you. Thanks, Jason.

No need for the rundown. As of now we know that if you, the reader, finish in the top 3 overall (from TNA Against All Odds 2012 – Royal Rumble 2013) they get a prize. Here are the standings for the Wrestleview staff and readers.

The Top Five Readers in the Wrestleview Readers Standings

1) James Lacerenza…………………………………..83-27 (7-1)
2) Wade Bradford………………………………………81-29 (6-2)

As of Press time, I have yet to receive picks from David Stephens, Darragh O’Connor, Greg McNeish, Jose Marrero, and Mike Tedesco.

Evan O. – RANDY ORTON.

Nick G. – Orton.

David S. – N/A.

Anthony V. – RANDY ORTON. I know they have to do some angle to get him off TV for the movie, but Del Rio is not helping his cause to be ready for another title shot. Orton wins, then “gets hurt” on a Smackdown.

Josh B. – RANDALL K. ORTON.

Darragh O. – N/A.

Greg M. – N/A.

Matt O. – ALBERTO DEL RIO.

Grash – RANDY ORTON.

Jason N. – ALBERTO DEL RIO.

Jose M. – N/A.

Mike T. – N/A.

Rocky J. – RANDY ORTON. No guess work involved.

James L. – ALBERTO DEL RIO for two reasons. First, Del Rio needs a win more than Orton. He’s had three consecutive losses to Sheamus, your defending World Heavyweight Champions on the last 3 WWE Pay-Per-Views alone, while Orton beat Dolph Ziggler last month at Night of Champions. Secondly, an Orton losing streak could freshen him up if he turns heel. To have Del Rio lose 3 straight matches to Sheamus followed by a loss to Orton this month would really hurt Del Rio’s character more than Orton getting a win.

CONSENSUS: ORTON 6-3.

Evan O. – EVE.

Nick G. – Eve.

David S. – N/A.

Anthony V. – EVE. Eve is the best diva in that division. Kaitlyn is not ready yet and Layla can’t keep the crowd focused in her matches.

Josh B. – EVE.

Darragh O. – N/A.

Greg M. – N/A.

Matt O. – EVE.

Grash – KAITLYN.

Jason N. – EVE.

Jose M. – N/A.

Mike T. – N/A.

Rocky J. – EVE retains, and storyline ends here. No one cares…

James L. – EVE. Like we’re really gonna give the title to anyone else?

CONSENSUS: EVE 8. Kaitlyn 1 and Layla with 0.

Evan O. – TEAM HELL NO.

Nick G. – Hell No.

David S. – N/A.

Anthony V. – HELL NO. I know the implosion is going to come up soon, but I say they lose the tag titles next month. Let Rhodes and Sandow case a bit more.

Josh B. – HELL NO.

Darragh O. – N/A.

Greg M. – N/A.

Matt O. – TEAM HELL NO.

Grash – TEAM HELL NO.

Jason N. – RHODES SCHOLARS.

Jose M. – N/A.

Mike T. – N/A.

Rocky J. – TEAM HELL NO. I just see them finding teams for D-By and Kane to face until Rumble or so.

James L. – RHODES SCHOLARS. Kane and Bryan have helped bring tag team wrestling back to WWE because you have two guys who have really connected with the audience. That being said, there’s been a lot of emphasis on this tag team tournament the last month or so because Kane and Bryan have excelled and they need credible opponents. Cody is a former Intercontinental Champion who, until being paired with Mr. Sandow, was really doing nothing of note since losing the IC title. Sandow and Rhodes have meshed well on the microphone and in the ring. To have a tournament, get #1 contenders, and not have them win the title would make the entire tournament feel like a waste of time.
I think Bryan and Kane eventually break up, and this is the start of that scenario. You’ll see a return match with Rhodes Scholars at Survivor Series, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Kane and D-Bry splitting up either at that show, or at TLC in December. Remember, even if they do split up, both are still incredibly popular as singles wrestlers.

CONSENSUS: HELL NO 7-2

Evan O. – KOFI KINGSTON.

Nick G. – Kingston.

David S. – N/A.

Anthony V. – KOFI. Could be the match of the night if provided time. The Miz is ready for the main event scene and Kingston is fine as the face of the mid-card division.

Josh B. – KOFI.

Darragh O. – N/A.

Greg M. – N/A.

Matt O. – KOFI KINGSTON.

Grash – THE MIZ.

Jason N. – KOFI KINGSTON.

Jose M. – N/A.

Mike T. – N/A.

Rocky J. – KOFI retains. We haven’t had a heel title chase in a while. And no, Cesaro doesn’t count. He was gonna win anyways.

James L. – KOFI KINGSTON. Kofi just won the title. It makes no sense to have him lose it so quickly. This could be a show stealer.

CONSENSUS: KINGSTON 8-1.

Evan O. – SHEAMUS.

Nick G. – Sheamus.

David S. – N/A.

Anthony V. – SHEAMUS. I can’t see Show as the champion. Besides, Sheamus is a solid champion for the Smackdown brand.

Josh B. – SHEAMUS.

Darragh O. – N/A.

Greg M. – N/A.

Matt O. – SHEAMUS.

Grash – SHEAMUS.

Jason N. – SHEAMUS.

Jose M. – N/A.

Mike T. – N/A.

Rocky J. – I see SHEAMUS retaining. I don’t care what he has said, I don’t think Dolph will actually cash in MITB. Maybe he waits until Friday for the rematch to cash in.

James L. – SHEAMUS. No one is going to “buy” Show as a legitimate champion. I could see Big Show winning, he’s exhausted, and having Ziggler run in. However, an exhausted Sheamus beating Big Show and THEN losing to a fresh Dolph Ziggler makes more sense. After Sheamus survives to win the match, Ziggler cashes in Money in the Bank and wins the title.

CONSENSUS: SHEAMUS 9-0.

Evan O. – CM PUNK.

Nick G. – Punk.

David S. – N/A.

Anthony V. – CM PUNK. However, I think if John Cena finds his way into this match I think he wins. The real question will be this: Is Ryback ready? I am leaning toward yes. But not as the champion yet.

Josh B. – PUNK.

Darragh O. – N/A.

Greg M. – N/A.

Matt O. – RYYYYYBAAAACK.

Grash – CM PUNK.

Jason N. – RYBACK.

Jose M. – N/A.

Mike T. – N/A.

Rocky J. – As much as I want to see Ryback win the belt here, I see CM PUNK finding some way to squeak out of the match with the strap.

James L. – CM PUNK. You can insert Big Show costing Ryback the match. You could have Lesnar costing Ryback the match.
Punk has been hinting at the Rock at the Royal Rumble. He teased a match with Stone Cold Steve Austin again this past week on WWE.com during a “WWE ’13” hype segment. Ryback was inserted into this spot because of John Cena’s injury.
Technically, Ryback does not have to be pinned cleanly without someone costing him the match via “no contest” or Lesnar or show just destroying everything in his path and causing a disqualification to still be undefeated in the eyes of fans. If WWE put the title on Ryback, he’d almost certainly lose it right back to Punk immediately.

CONSENSUS: PUNK 7-2
