Gawker.com responds to the Hulk Hogan lawsuit

According to the Wrestling Observer, Gawker.com, the website that was sent a sex tape featuring Hulk Hogan & the ex-wife of Bubba the Love Sponge, Heather Clem, has filed a response to Hogan’s lawsuit against them, asking that the case be thrown out.

Gawker is saying that they did “no damage to Hogan’s reputation” by putting up a 1 minute clip of said tape. Gawker also claims that since Hogan already admitted he was an “adulterer” in his autobiography, the tape couldn’t have hurt his reputation any worse.

It has also been reported by TMZ.com that Gawker has claimed they shouldn’t be on the hook financially for invasion of privacy because they didn’t record said tape and had only put up a small clip of said tape because it was newsworthy due to the fact that Hogan is a well known celebrity.

Finally, Gawker has asked for “journalistic shield laws”, preventing them from having to reveal who sent them the full tape.
