Predictions for WWE Royal Rumble

CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES

Tag Team Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship

Team Hell No (Daniel Bryan and Kane) (c’s) vs. Rhodes Scholars (Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow)

David S. – TEAM HELL NO.

Evan O. – TEAM HELL NO.

Nick G. – HELL NO.

Anthony V. – RHODES SCHOLARS. Now that Kane and Daniel Bryan graduated Anger Management, it is time for them to implode. It’s time for a change.

Greg M. – TEAM RHODES SCHOLARS.

Darragh O. – TEAM HELL NO.

Josh B. – HELL……NO!

Matt O. – RHODES SCHOLARS.

Jason N. – TEAM RHODES SCHOLARS.

Wade B. – Time for a change. The Team Hell No routine is getting old, and RHODES SCHOLARS is easily the hotter team. Four Words: Dr. Shelby Heel Turn! You’re Welcome. Rhodes Scholars win the tag titles.

CONSENSUS:TIE 5-5.

Singles Match for the WWE United States Championship
(To be shown on WWE’s YouTube Channel)

Antonio Cesaro (c) vs. The Miz

David S. – CESARO.

Evan O. – ANTONIO CESARO.

Nick G. – CESARO.

Anthony V. – CESARO. This is the only match I feel comfortable predicting. The Miz does not need a title. Cesaro does, and he represented the title well. Let him keep it.

Greg M. – ANTONIO CESARO.

Darragh O. – THE MIZ.

Josh B. – CESARO.

Matt O. – ANTONIO CESARO.

Jason N. – ANTONIO CESARO.

Wade B. – Another layup for the champ. CESARO retains. Hail Cesaro!

CONSENSUS:CESARO 9-1.

Last Man Standing Match for the World Heavyweight Championship

Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. The Big Show

David S. – DEL RIO.

Evan O. – ALBERTO DEL RIO.

Nick G. – SHOW.

Anthony V. – DEL RIO. I think Del Rio has something special with this face turn and as champion. Del Rio will find an intelligent way to keep Big Show down.

Greg M. – ALBERTO DEL RIO.

Darragh O. – ALBERTO DEL RIO.

Josh B. – ALBERTO DEEEEEEEEEEEL RIOOOOOOOOOOO.

Matt O. – ALBERTO DEL RIO.

Jason N. – ALBERTO DEL RIO.

Wade B. – They put the title on Del Rio for a reason, and I don’t think it involves him losing it to the same guy in the same match two weeks later. DEL RIO retains.

CONSENSUS:DEL RIO 9-1.

Singles Match for the WWE World Championship
Stipulation: If anyone from The Shield interferes, CM Punk must relinquish his WWE Championship

CM Punk (c) vs. The Rock

David S. – CM PUNK.

Evan O. – CM PUNK.

Nick G. – THE ROCK.

Anthony V. – THE ROCK. For some reason, I think Punk “may” find a way to retain and The Rock wins it at Chamber (or Cena wins a title shot at Chamber for the impending Cena/Rock II). Either way, Rock will win this match. The question is “Will he get the WWE Championship”?

Greg M. – THE ROCK.

Darragh O. – CM PUNK.

Josh B. – THE ROCK.

Matt O. – THE ROCK.

Jason N. – THE ROCK.

Wade B. – 1) They can’t have the same Rock/Cena “Once in a Lifetime” match at WM two years in a row. 2) It makes much more sense to continue Punk’s historic title reign as part of the build going into WM, instead of just ending it at the Rumble. 3) Vince’s stip pretty much insures that Punk somehow weasels out of this match some other way, maybe with Brad Maddox. PUNK retains, and we probably will end up with Punk/Rock/Cena at WM.

CONSENSUS: THE ROCK 6-4.

NON TITLE MATCH

The 30-Man Royal Rumble

We picked the winner and what number they will be entered.

David S. – JOHN CENA at 30.

Evan O. – RYBACK at 22.

Nick G. – RYBACK at 10.

Anthony V. – DOLPH ZIGGLER at Number 1. I really think if there is a way to make him a threat to a World Title, he needs to win and face Del Rio. I am overthinking it, but I have nothing to lose.

Greg M. – RANDY ORTON at 27.

Darragh O. – RYBACK at 29.

Josh B. – JUAN CENA at 25.

Matt O. – JOHN CENA at 23.

Jason N. – JOHN CENA at 18.

Wade B. – The second JOHN CENA enters, everybody else will be Five Moves of Doomed. Cena wins the Rumble and bgins his Year of Redemption. Final Four: Cena, Ziggler, Orton, and Sheamus.

CONSENSUS: JOHN CENA is predicted to win on five of the ballots. Ryback is on 3 of them with Orton and Ziggler getting one each to round the prediction out.

And now, changes for Next Year’s Predictions Game

1) ROH iPPVs WILL count next season (but only a few of them).

One of the things that we all mainly agreed on four years ago is that in order for a PPV to count in our standings a company must have a Weekly TV Deal in the United States that covers a vast area in the country. Ring of Honor Wrestling meets the criteria, but we will only count six of their iPPVs. The list will be featured in a bit.

2) We will be using a Points System.

This will make it easier and many other sites now use a points system. It will be easy. I will award two points for a championship predicted correctly, and one point for a non-title matches predicted correctly. I will still keep a private win-loss standing in case people do not like the new format. It will be up to the readers and staff who participate.

3) Next Season will end later…at WrestleMania XXX!

Due to popular demand, we listened and will invoke a new law that all season from here on out starting with Season #5 will end at Wrestlemania. So next season will go from Elimination Chamber 2013 – WrestleMania XXX.

4) Don’t worry, we will have a separate readers standings.

This will be the only non-change. This is for the readers so they can be a part of the predictions process as well. The readers of the week next season still have the same rules. One must outright defeat the defending Reader of the Week to get theirs posted in a future article. One can’t tie with them. If a Reader of the Week goes undefeated (or accumulates the most possible points) in a PPV, they automatically retain their position.

Next season, we feel, will be easier for all readers to participate in if they choose. And have fun with it! Don’t take it seriously!
