Original NWA Title to be auctioned off

The NWA World Heavyweight Championship belt, which had previously been in Ric Flair’s possession since Jim Crockett Promotions introduced the “big gold title” in the mid-1980s, is scheduled to be auctioned off by Highspots through eBay this Monday (October 5). This was the original NWA Title worn by Jack Brisco, Dusty Rhodes, Harley Race and many others. PWInsider is reporting that a decision was made to auction off the belt due to an ongoing issue between Highspots and Ric Flair over money owed going back many months. According to reports, Highspots loaned Flair a sum of money that he has yet to pay back. Sources on Flair’s side claim the debt was paid back via appearances Flair made for Highspots. It should also be noted that Flair has yet to pay off money advanced to him from Ring of Honor from when he was working as an “ROH Ambassador” for the company. For more information about the auction you can email Highspots@aol.com.
