Conflicting reports about ROH in talks with Spike TV, AXS TV

Some conflicting reports are making the rounds among the wrestling media regarding Ring of Honor in talks for expanding television with other network outlets.

A report by PWInsider claimed that no negotiations had taken place between ROH and Spike TV, while a new report by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that ROH has been in preliminary talks with both Spike TV and AXS TV (the former HDNet).

AXS currently produces a weekly New Japan Pro Wrestling show and aired ROH programming from 2009 to 2011 (they opted to not renew a deal with ROH). The talks – although very preliminary with Spike TV – would be for a Friday night show once a month giving Spike a regular rotation of Bellator, Glory, boxing and pro wrestling. ROH landing a deal with Spike TV would put them in 83 percent of the country while Sinclair Broadcasting is syndicated in up to 40 percent of the country.
