WrestleCon announces details of 2016 event in Dallas

WrestleCon posted the following details on their website WrestleCon.com yesterday about their 2016 event in Dallas, Texas during Wrestlemania 32 weekend:

Our 2016 event will be held at the iconic Downtown Hyatt Regency hotel. Anybody who has been to Dallas is familiar with this property because of its world renowned Reunion Tower that is featured in every Dallas skyline shot, attached to the hotel. It is within walking distance to the Downtown Dallas Convention Center and 1 stop on the DART. The DART Red and Blue Lines as well as the TRE (Railway) are connected to the hotel via underground concourse to the hotel’s Union Station. Anything occuring in downtown Dallas is within walking distance or a very short DART ride.

Reservations are now available online under our group rate of $189/night. You can find a link at www.Wrestlecon.com.

This will be the hotel where most of the wrestlers participating in WrestleCon will be staying, so we appreciate if you respect their privacy when they are not appearing as part of Wrestlecon. It’s perfectly fine to interact with the wrestlers in the common areas, but please respect the fact that pictures and autographs will only be conducted during the convention and they are not authorized to do those things elsewhere on the premises. When they tell you “no” for a picture/autograph in the lobby/bar/restaurant, it’s not because they are being a jerk, its because they are following the rules in not doing so.

WrestleMania will be held in Arlington, TX which is about 40 minutes from downtown Dallas and currently has no “door to door” system with mass transit. For people staying at the Hyatt under our group rate, you’ll have the ability to purchase a private charter bus transfer to/from Mania from the hotel to make it very convenient getting to WrestleMania.

There will be 3 live events (one Friday night, one Saturday afternoon, and one on Saturday evening) being held at the Hyatt Regency that will all be separately ticketed events held in a 15,000 SF ballroom that will accommodate about 1,200 fans per live event.

Once again, Wrestlecon will feature an expo area on both Friday (10-5pm) and Saturday (10-5pm) where wrestlers and vendors from around the world give you the opportunity to take pictures and obtain autographs from your favorites. In Dallas, it will be held in a 39,000 SF indoor space and have over 100 vendor tables.

There will also be greater emphasis on a Q&A area where we hope to have interactive opportunities that go beyond the typical autograph/photo ops of a typical convention. The last three years, WrestleCon has averaged over 100 guests available for pictures/autographs and we anticipate Dallas to be our biggest convention to date based on the size of our venue, superb location, and the fact that Dallas is a desired destination city. It’s our goal to also give a “nod” to the legends that made wrestling in Dallas historically a true “hot bed” during the 1980′s through bringing in available talent and making that talent available for Q&As.

We will definitely be returning the “Mania Moments” brunch on Sunday where you’ll have an opportunity to enjoy brunch with some of the featured wrestlers at Wrestlecon in a really small, intimate setting.

For those on a tighter budget, we have also secured a secondary/overflow hotel at the Marriott Springhill Suites in the West End (Downtown) Dallas area for $149/night for our group rate. Those details will be made available shortly.

Tickets will go on sale after we have more of a firm grasp on our schedule, but it will likely be later in the summer.

Wrestlecon is an experience like no other, but don’t take it from us, take it from those that attended our last event in San Jose in our testimonial section of the website.
