“Nature Boy” Buddy Landel passes away at age 53

William Ansor, known to many as “Nature Boy” Buddy Landel, passed away on Monday at the age of 53. Landel was reportedly involved in a bad auto accident over the weekend and later checked himself out of a hospital on Sunday. According to a report by Dave Meltzer, Landel told his wife he was “feeling bad” when he went to sleep and when his wife went to check on him today, he had already died.

Landel is best known for his time with Jim Crockett Promotions back in the 1980s and a popular feud with Ric Flair. He was also involved with the USWA at the Mid South Coliseum working with Jerry “The King” Lawler, Bill Dundee and Dutch Mantel. Landel also made brief appearances with WWE back in 1995 and 1996.
