CM Punk’s first UFC opponent set, date to be determined

UFC newcomer Mickey Gall def. Mike Jackson on Saturday night in Las Vegas during the preliminary card airing on UFC Fight Pass. Gall won the fight in just 45 seconds via submission in the first round at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Gall was discovered and featured on Dana White’s new YouTube show “Lookin’ For a Fight” and called out former WWE star Phil “CM Punk” Brooks for his first fight in the UFC. White revealed that if Gall won in his UFC debut that he would get the fight with Punk.

Punk attended the event and met briefly with Gall (2-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) inside the cage during his post-fight interview. UFC President Dana White did not commit to a date for Punk’s UFC debut against Gall, but did add that it would likely take place in June at UFC 199 or possibly at UFC 200 in July. White said everyone is trying to get on the card for UFC 200.
